He explained to listeners of The Language of Love With Dr. Laura Berman how he had been pursuing an educational journey over the years, admitting that he was trying to earn a PhD in divinity, which is the study of religion.

In addition to going for his doctorate, Nick also shared that he'd been studying psychology. This sounds like such a smart move for him!

He recently changed his field of study to be more child-centric

Nick explained how he'd narrowed things down recently and was now studying child psychology, something we have to assume was influenced by his growing brood.

Dr. Laura told him it would "come in handy," prompting Nick to tell her how it's already popped up in his daily life and how his role as a father is a constant topic. We can see how that would happen.

His education is playing a pretty big role in how he views his relationship with is children

It has to be hard for Nick to be with his 11 surviving children all the time, and it sounds like he understands the impact that may have on them.

"Oh, the presence of a father and how much will they need you and the Freudian aspect of reverting back to your childhood trauma, or the lack thereof," Nick explained of his recent learnings. "Nature vs. nurture. These are conversations I have several times every single day."

This will likely help him to be a better father

Not only does this have the potential to become a great way for Nick to help others, but it will enable him to really connect with his children on a whole different level.

"But I'm like, I'm living, whether in therapy on my own or even just wanting to make sure that every single child has what they need developmentally. And emotionally," he continued. "I'm studying the brain and at what point does sensory matter."
