Brittany Bell Says Her & Nick Cannon’s 8-Month-Old Is Already Reading Sight Words

So far, it sounds like Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell's youngest son is really thriving – and he's even picking up skills well beyond his years. According to Brittany, 8-month-old Rise is already reading sight words, and that's just one of the items on the list of advanced tricks he's mastered.

In a video she shared on her Instagram Stories this week, Brittany showed off Rise demonstrating a couple of his new tricks. When she told him to put his arms up or down, he could follow directions — and he could clap on cue. Good job, Rise!

"On his way!! He started reading sight words already too!!!! Can't wait to show you all," she wrote.

This isn't the first time she's pointed out how advanced her youngest child is

Just a few weeks ago, she shared this video from when Rise mastered his clapping skills — how cute is this little guy?

And this came after she showed off how Rise could hold a plank at just 4 months old. Is this some kind of super baby?

Maybe those jokes about Nick's "super sperm" weren't jokes …

Reading isn't typically a skill that 8-month-olds are expected to have

Reading "sight words" means that a child is able to recognize certain words just by sight, without needing to sound them out. This usually doesn't happen until kids are between 4 and 7 years old.

It's totally possible that Brittany means that Rise is able to identify certain words because of how they look … but if he's reading them out loud, then he's also already talking, which is also impressive, considering most babies don't even say "mama" or "dada" until they're about his age or older.

Brittany has always made educating her children at an early age a priority

Brittany and Nick also share two other children: 6-year-old Golden and 2-year-old Powerful Queen. Golden has already skipped grades and is now scoring at a fourth grade level at school, while Powerful Queen is working on skills like identifying very specific colors, as we can see in this video of her and her mom.

She and Nick must be so proud

It's clear that they've got three smart kids on their hands, and we can't wait to see what Golden, Powerful Queen, and Rise can accomplish next. At this point, it seems like the sky is the limit.

We're still waiting for that video of Rise reading sight words!
