Country Star Jimmie Allen Reveals His Wife Is Pregnant While Announcing They’re Splitting

This celebrity couple is having a pretty tumultuous year. Over the weekend, country star Jimmie Allen revealed he and his wife are separating. And at the same time, he shared some other big family news: She also happens to be pregnant with their third child.

Jimmie shared a statement with the news on Instagram

"After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year," he wrote. "Our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy, and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another."

Jimmie and Alexis already share two children

They are parents to daughters Naomi, 3, and Zara, 1, along with Jimmie's son from a previous relationship, 8-year-old Aadyn.

Since January, Alexis has been pretty quiet on social media, and while Jimmie has been posting regularly, not many of the photos on his feed feature his wife. So far, neither of them have addressed the cause of the split.

The couple originally got married in June 2020

But in May 2021, they threw a much bigger wedding so they could celebrate with family and friends. It's hard to think that this split is coming before they were able to celebrate three years of marriage — and soon, three children together.

There's no doubt that this is a complicated situation.

Not that long ago, Jimmie said he was done having kids

While talking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at the 2022 ACM Awards in March of last year, Jimmie said that he had "retired" from having more children.

"Going from two to three is a big jump! It's cool, we love 'em, and we're just definitely thankful for our kids," he said at the time. "For sure, we feel outnumbered."

But with the added stress of another baby on the way, we can only imagine that the situation has become even more complicated than it already was.

Here's hoping that Jimmie and Alexis are given plenty of space and privacy as they figure out what this next phase of their co-parenting relationship will look like.
