But what some people are wondering, after seeing a clip of her speech at the summit, is why Melania felt the need to speak on behalf of children at all. The Fostering the Future Together initiative, which Melania created, is all about encouraging children to learn and grow, and that’s all well and good. But the fact that Melania, Donald Trump’s wife, is at the center of it all just makes no sense to some of her harshest critics.

During Melania’s speech, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter), she called out other countries around the world, like Israel, Nigeria, Paraguay, Poland, and many others. She said that she wants to work toward helping children learn and grow in a “rapidly evolving world.” Again, totally fine. But Melania herself left a bad taste in the mouths of some of the social media users who watched the video on X.
“Beginning today, let’s celebrate our new global alliance,” Melania said at the event. “This bond, to positively impact the progress of our children.”
She also said that the mission of the coalition is to “empower children by providing greater access to technology and education.”
In the comments under the X post that featured the speech Melania gave at the event, people asked why she was chosen to speak on behalf of children. Others found fault with the content of what she said, especially with a war in Iran that the U.S. is part of.
“Might as well just use a robot to give this speech,” someone commented. “Same energy, same emotion.”
Another wrote, “How on earth is she allowed to have anything to do with children?”
“No wonder there are so many people out there losing their minds,” a user added. “This is yet another slice of social psychosis. One is forced to become insane just to adapt to these constant absurdities.”
Someone else made a serious accusation against her in their comment, lumping her in with Trump, who many see as problematic because of his link to Jeffrey Epstein.
They wrote, “Why did they invite her? She groomed children for pedophiles. The Children’s Tech Development Center should be investigated. I think we have seen enough of Epstein Class members, associated directly with Epstein, running these enterprises to make it a reasonable suspicion.”
Apparently, Melania Trump was only at the event for seven minutes.
The Hill reported that, after Melania spoke to the audience, she left the event. She was scheduled to appear again the following day. Why couldn’t she stick around? That’s yet another big mystery regarding the First Lady. According to People, Melania was at the event at the State Department for just seven minutes. Her speech was almost six minutes long. That means she arrived, read her lines, and left. At least, that’s how some people see it.
“Okay, I watched the first 24 seconds. Does she just name countries for 5 minutes?” Someone joked in response to the X post with the video.
“Whose speech did she steal this time?” Another person wrote.
Not everyone could stomach watching the entire clip.
Other users commented on the X post with the video to share how long they sat and watched and listened to Melania speak. For some, it was mere seconds. For others, it was the duration of the video, but they admitted they wouldn’t be able to stomach it a second time. The bullet points, of course, are that Melania spoke about all the ways and reasons children should have the right education. Never mind the fact that Trump signed an executive disorder to dismantle the Department of Education in the U.S.
