Mandy Moore Shares Husband’s Cute Reaction to Watching ‘A Walk to Remember’ for First Time

Someone just became a big fan of Mandy Moore's 2002 romantic drama, A Walk to Remember: Taylor Goldsmith. Mandy shared the super-sweet conversation she and her musician husband had after he watched the movie for the first time. It seems he had quite the emotional response to the sad story. We've all been there, Taylor — and unfortunately, it doesn't get any easier the more you watch it!

Mandy took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of a text exchange between her and her husband. The since-expired post proves just how enduring Mandy's performance continues to be.

"Just finished [A Walk to Remember]," Taylor began his message to Mandy, according to Today. "Jesus. Haven't cried like that since This Is Us."

OK, clearly Taylor is a fan of his wife's work (which we love), and he had the very same thoughts as the rest of us.

The story is pretty heartbreaking

For anyone who has yet to see the movie, it's based on the Nicolas Sparks book of the same name and is set in a small rural town in the 1950s. Mandy stars alongside Shane West as the two form an unlikely friendship that turns into (spoiler alert) a short-lived but passionate romance before Mandy tragically dies.

"It's so sweet and so sad," Taylor's text continued, before he commented on just how young Mandy was at the time of filming it. "You're a baby!"

Mandy was 17 when the movie was shot

It may be hard to believe that so much time has passed, but Mandy truly was just a baby when she made her name as an actress with the film. Before that, she was mainly known for her singing talents, which she did get to show off with the hit song "Only Hope" from the movie's soundtrack.

The mother of two only recently rewatched the movie herself

Mandy took her own walk down memory lane in January 2022 when she filmed herself during a rewatch of A Walk to Remember in honor of its 20th anniversary. She not only sang along to the theme song, but grabbed the tissues when the sad parts started to play out. Mandy also thrilled fans by admitting to having a crush on costar Shane at the time.

It's super sweet knowing that Taylor is so enthusiastic about Mandy's work

Mandy has to love having a partner who is not only interested in her work but who appears to be a massive fan. The couple has been married since 2018 and now have two sons together — 2-year-old August and 6-month-old Ozzie. We hope Taylor has recovered from his emotional first viewing and will be ready for a rewatch soon.
