For a lot of folks in North America, they knew Meghan Markle long before she started dating and eventually tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. Before things got super complicated for her within the royal family, Meghan starred on the hit show Suits as Rachel Zane for seven seasons. You may not have thought much about her acting career in a little while, but it is interesting to think about what the royal family may have thought about some of her sexy scenes on the show since she was a part of the central romantic pairing for many seasons. Seriously, who doesn’t remember heading to work and excitedly discussing Mike and Rachel’s latest steamy scene with their coworker back in the day? Honestly, those were the days!
According to new reports, Meghan’s sexy scenes on Suits were a bit much for the royal family.
Everyone has a life before they meet their one true love and for Meghan Markle, one of her passions was acting in the hit law drama, Suits.
According to In Touch, there were possibly some members of the royal family who felt some type of way when it came to Meghan’s “very sexy” role on the show. If you’ve seen the show, there’s really no refuting that there were certainly some sexy moments between Meghan’s character Rachel and her longtime love interest on the show, Mike, but it certainly wasn’t anywhere near 50 Shades of Grey territory.
Eliza Roberts, who is a casting director and married to Eric Roberts, who also starred on Suits, recently told the Daily Mail that “it is tricky because of the monarchy. Her role in ‘Suits’ was very sexy.” Yeah, but isn’t that half the fun of shows like that? And plus, it’s called acting for a reason. It’s not real life!
Apparently, it was weird for the royal family to see Meghan act in intimate scenes on the show.
We can be confident in our thoughts that members of the royal family have surely watched a television show or two with some PG-13 sex scenes, right? Or are they only allowed to watch Disney movies?
According to Eliza Roberts, who recently spoke to the Daily Mail, Meghan “making love with another man, that was just — they’ve never seen anything like that.” Seriously, has no one heard of the fast forward button? It exists for exactly these types of reasons!
Maybe there’s so much controversy, even now for a television show that went off the air over six years ago, due to Meghan’s utter charisma that Eliza couldn’t help but remark on. “Meghan is a star. From the second you see her, she just has star quality. It doesn’t matter. It was always going to happen,” she told the Daily Mail.
What she means to say is that you can’t fight fate, baby!
Is it time for Meghan Markle to return to acting? Some people tend to think so!
While speaking to the Daily Mail, Eliza Roberts explained that she understood Meghan’s “intention” in stepping away from acting while she transitioned into her royal family duties, but “she worked so hard to get there.” We do see her point because it is really difficult to make it in Hollywood.
Even though it’s not truly coming from things from a feminist perspective to judge another woman’s life choices, she explained that “women don’t give up their jobs for a marriage anymore,” but she feels like Meghan is a “young woman who needs to be acting.” Those are some strong words of support!
Even though there are some individuals on Reddit who are not so kind to the former Duchess, especially when they say things like, “she couldn’t act her way out of a jam jar,” we can’t help but be at least a little curious as to what kind of role Meghan might consider taking on if she was ever to officially come back to acting.
Would she be a heavyweight lawyer? A no-nonsense modern mom with spunk? Or perhaps something that’s entirely foreign to her. The possibilities are truly endless!
