Should parents be able to just call dibs on public park spaces? That's the question one person asked on Reddit. In their post, they shared that a parent had "reserved" a table in the park for their kid's fourth birthday. The biggest problem was that they had left the table unattended for hours, and there were no other tables available.

The Reddit poster shared that it was a busy park and a "hot Saturday."
"Seems super entitled. Park has been open for 4 hours and no sign of them. All the other tables are full," they wrote. In the post, they shared a picture of a note left on the fully decorated table.
"Reserved for a birthday party. Please respect the space we've set aside and do not use our tables. This is for a four-year-old's party, don't be the one to mess it up, thank you," the note read.
"Unless stated by officials and with the officials sign and paper work, all public benches are first come first served basis. Most reservations at parks are usually gazebo style buildings with lots of tables in them. Other then that you have the right to throw that sign away," one comment read.
"As a parent who has gotten up at 5am and sat at one of these to keep it reserved, please just use the tables! How rude of them!" another chimed in.
"Exact same types that let their kids run wild in restaurants and stores and at the same time expect workers to be babysitters but also not tell their kids what to do. Zero logic, all entitlement," someone else said.
"For clarification; there are no reservations at this park. Fwiw, i am also here with 10 kids doing a party, and we got here when the park opened to make sure we had space for all our guests. Silly me," they wrote. The OP also shared that the thing they found "annoying" was the "aggressively" written note left by the parents, and their "depending on other people’s decency to allow them to bend common courtesy."
In a second update, the OP shared, "They finally showed after about 6 hours into the day. Immediately setup a noisy boombox, which attracted the park rangers. That got them a lengthy talking too and they’ve been low key since. Best part is several families setup blankets and spots right next to the tables, which i think got the message across!"
Six hours?!
