You can take the girl out of Kensington Palace, but you can’t take the Kensington Palace out of the girl, apparently. Well, that’s what some of Meghan Markle‘s most dedicated haters tend to believe, anyway. When she and Prince Harry were spotted out and she was clocked handing a gift to someone in her entourage, people called her out for it on X (formerly Twitter). They wrote that she is acting like a member of the British Royal Family even though Meghan and Harry both stepped back from their duties as members of the Firm.
Meghan’s haters are some of the most loyal, though, when it comes to punching on her for whatever they see as negative behavior. According to some, her act of handing off a gift that was given to her shows that she believes she is on par with King Charles ll. People just have a never-ending bone to pick with her it seems, and social media is the perfect place to make that known.

Meghan has too many haters to let anything just slide when she makes public appearances. So when someone posted that video on X, they wrote along with it, “Did Meghan really hand a gift to her handler like she’s a Royal?!?!” They added a hashtag to call for stripping Meghan and Harry of their titles. A bit extreme maybe, but some people just can’t shake their Meghan hate.
“Why is this being allowed?” A user commented on X. “It is not a Royal visit. They are not opening a new wing or facility. They are not fund raising for the hospital. They are not donating or contributing to the hospital.”
Someone else pointed out that the visit “is coming across like a Royal tour.”
The reason for this particular stop on Meghan and Harry’s visit to Australia was to see the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, where Harry’s mom Princess Diana once visited in 1985. According to People, the couple was well-received by hundreds of people. However, per Reuters, it was definitely the couple’s first major trip in this capacity since they stepped back from their Royal duties.
“She is even more pathetic than Trump with her narcissism,” another hater wrote. “Who does she think she is? When will the RF remove their titles??? This trampling around the globe acting like a fake fool has to stop.”
Other users replied to say that, in time, King Charles II might just remove the couples’ titles. However, that certainly hasn’t happened yet, much to the disappointment of Meghan’s smarmy band of internet haters.
“Why is Rachel Meghan Markle receiving gifts at a children’s hospital?” A user questioned, using Meghan’s full birth name. “This is some sickening tone deaf mess on so many levels. The hospital administrators should be ashamed for allowing this nasty couple to exploit sick children.”
Her “gift handler” caught the attention of her critics.
The gift handler was just the icing on the cake for some. People also pointed out how hospital employees and onlookers also curtseyed to Meghan, which her critics don’t quite understand, given her distancing herself from the Royal Family since she and Harry made the permanent move to the United States.
“You can tell someone worked really hard on that probably a sick child but she basically threw it away,” a commenter wrote, of the gift that was handed to Meghan before she handed it off. “I’m sure the child saw that I am absolutely nauseated.”
Another user commented, “She didn’t even hand it, I’d say discarded!”
“You can tell she really appreciated the gift from the children’s hospital,” someone added, clearly with sarcasm. “She really is the most loathsome woman on Earth.” That’s a little drastic, but OK.
Technically, Meghan Markle is still a duchess.
Queen Elizabeth II named Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Although they stepped back from their official duties with the family, they maintained their titles, according to Grazia Daily UK. But that just annoyed Meghan critics even more. For Meghan and Harry to release themselves from their jobs as members of the Royal Family but retain those cushy titles, and have their children have titles of their own, just seems unfair to some.
