What to Know
It can feel like a task and a half when you’re a family traveling on an airplane with a young child. Not only is there so much you need to bring with you to accommodate their needs, like a stroller and car seat, but you never want to be that parent who’s getting the side-eye from multiple people on your flight because your baby has the nerve to cry. Seriously, why does the world hate babies so much sometimes? A frustrated mom took to TikTok to air some grievances with a certain airline after her family of three was kicked off their flight because they deemed her baby “feverish” after she had been crying and was red in the face. Yes, you read that correctly! Doesn’t that seem like such an overreaction?
The mom of a crying baby whose family got kicked off a flight puts Allegiant Airlines on blast in this TikTok video.
Honestly, it’s stories like this that make you want to stay home until your child is about 4!
A mom with the handle quarantinecutiee on TikTok shared a snippet of a super frustrating travel day she experienced while trying to fly home to Indiana with her baby and partner on Allegiant Airlines.
The video starts with a voiceover and a calm dad holding a shirtless baby girl who’s just chilling in his arms. The baby’s mom explains that “this is [their] baby,” and they were just “taken off of their flight.” You can see they are not on a plane; they’re hanging out in an airport terminal.
She explains that they’re waiting for someone to bring them a used car seat for their little one. They were removed from their flight because the flight crew determined that the baby was “feverish,” even though her face was just red from crying, and she’s pale just like her dad.
Wow. This is the stuff of travel nightmares right here.
The family experienced nothing but problems while trying to travel home from a trip with their baby.

It turns out that it was just one thing after another with this Allegiant Airlines flight for this young family.
The mom of the baby explains in the TikTok video caption that when they were trying to board their flight at check-in, the staff didn’t “believe” their baby’s birth certificate and had several employees come to look at it.
Before they boarded, they took off their baby’s shirt because she got super hot and uncomfortable on their previous flight. The flight crew removed a man sitting near them to get him “away” from the area with the kids. Yikes.
While in their seats, someone in a vest approached their section and asked to see their boarding passes again. The mom handed them over and answered all their inquiries about their baby, like her age, name, and birthdate. The person kept talking on their walkie-talkie to someone and even referred to their baby as an “unidentified infant.” That is crazy, given that her parents are right there with her!
It was then that someone came back to tell them that their baby had been reported for being “feverish” and they needed to get off the flight, or the police would come and remove them.
The family had to change their plans to stay an extra day to catch another flight. They were given no reimbursement from the airline.

Even though nobody would come and medically evaluate their baby and give her a temperature check, they were swiftly kicked off the plane.
In the TikTok video’s caption, the mom explains that no supervisor would come and talk to them in person, and that they weren’t booked on another flight until the next morning. The airline offered no accommodations and no car rental to get around in. Luckily, they were able to call a nearby family member to pick them up and stay at their house for the night.
When they arrived for their flight home the next morning, everything was fine. They were given priority boarding and seats with more leg room. She even noted that everyone seemed “so much nicer and friendlier” on this flight. What a difference a day makes, right?
The mom called Allegiant again, and she was again told they are unable to offer any compensation for the flight change. They also wouldn’t email her any formal policies regarding traveling with infants or connect her with a supervisor.
If you’re thinking about traveling with a baby on an Allegiant Airlines flight anytime soon, you may want to reconsider your options!
