The child, named Madden Hein, died a few days later, according to social media posts made by his parents Kathryn and Alex Hein, who are both teachers in Minnesota.

"It is with heavy hearts to say that our sweet baby boy Madden gained his angel wings late on April 15," the statement released by the family said. "Madden is going into organ donation. His organs are going to help so many other people. Our little boy is a real-life superhero."

Madden's parents shared that they would be doing an "honor walk" to escort his body to surgery where his organs would be removed. They invited "ANYONE who would like to help honor Madden in an amazing way" to join them for the event.

In a GoFundMe set up for the family, it was revealed that "two little boys and one woman" were the recipients of Madden's organs. So far, they have raised $85,000 of their $100,000 goal.

At the time of Madden's accident and death, the Sioux Falls Police Department showed up to investigate the cause behind Madden's fall.

"There is nothing to lead us to believe it was anything other than a tragic accident," police spokesman Sam Clemens said in a statement.

Little Madden is survived by his parents, older sister Charlotte, and a sibling who will be born in the summer.
