One mom's recent TikTok is going viral for showing the loving, sisterly bond between her two young daughters. And in the process, it's highlighting just how important everyday lessons on empathy and kindness can be — even in very young children.

The video was shared on TikTok by Lauren Reed, a Virginia mom of two
In the video, Reed (@itslaurenreed) captures a brief but touching interaction between her two daughters, 4-year-old Clementine and 2-year-old Maisie.
"Clementine was working through some big feelings and her little sister wanted to help her feel better," the video text reads.

In the clip, Clementine sits on the living room floor, caught up in a wave of emotions
As the 4-year-old fights back tears, Maisie sits by her side, gently rubbing and patting her big sister's arm.
That alone makes the video sweet, but something Clementine says next takes things to a whole other level.
"One day I was thinking about her and today she's thinking about me," Clementine says to her mother.
"Yep, yep," replies Reed as she watches her youngest continue to comfort her oldest.
"Maisie, that's so kind," the mother says with encouragement.
Then, just before the clip ends, Maisie looks over at Clementine and says, "Sorry sis."
Reed's TikTok already has more than 2.9 million views
It's also drawn a flood of comments from fellow parents who know just how big this little moment really is.
"Empathy is the strongest foundation to lay as a parent," one user wrote. "Both are full of empathy. Well done, momma."
"OMG the emotional intelligence and sweetness," added someone else.
Others applauded the mom for clearly modeling empathetic behavior at home.
"That has to be taught," one person noted. "You’re doing it mama. You’re raising some incredible humans that will make the world better."
Other viewers were touched by what the video says about sisters
"This is a beautiful moment between the bond of sisters," one person wrote.
"Sisters are such a gift," added another. "I wish mine lived closer."
Some even shared that while they may have fought with their own sisters growing up, they are now incredibly close — and are eternally grateful for the relationship.
"As I watched this, I saw them as teenagers, adults …," one TikToker wrote. "How lucky they will be to have each other."
Reed admits she was shocked to see the video go viral
"I never expected that to happen!" she tells Mom.com.
And while she's always known that her daughters are "the best of friends," this was actually the first time she caught a moment like this firsthand.
"This was the first time I had seen Maisie comfort her in that way, but Clementine has done that to Maisie many times," Reed explains. "That video was from a couple of months ago, and since that moment, they both comfort each other in this way often. It’s the most amazing thing to see."
Reed is a big believer in gentle parenting and says she always encourages her girls to talk about their feelings openly and (perhaps even more importantly) to feel comfortable doing that.
"Right before this moment, Clementine was having some big feeling about something, and her and I were talking about those feelings, snuggling, and working through them," Reed says of the viral clip. "And then a minute or so afterwards, Maisie went over to Clementine to comfort her, too. It was the sweetest thing and the first time she had ever done something like that."
Now that the video is going viral, others are thanking Reed for sharing it
"Imagine a world where we all applauded comforting each other," one commenter wrote.
"The world needs more of this," added another. "I needed this. More than you know."
