Mom’s ‘Dream Bedroom’ for Daughter Is Ripped Apart by Internet Trolls

We all have different ideas about how to stop a cycle and do better by our kids. But when a mom on TikTok shared a video of her daughter’s bedroom and called it her own “dream bedroom” as a kid, other users and some parents were left wondering when they were supposed to be impressed. It was very much a moment of “I hope you’re hungry…for nothing” on TikTok.

The video includes a quick tour of the bedroom, which has a hastily painted door and matching walls. Some were quick to criticize the paint job, while others shamelessly wrote that they were waiting for the wow moment to hit them. For the mom who posted the video, the bedroom is what she always dreamed of having herself as a kid. For other users, it’s a straight up disaster. Oof.

People were apparently waiting for the “transformation” that never came.

The mom, Sierra Rose, wrote on the screen of her bedroom tour, “POV: You give your daughter the bedroom you always dreamt of as a kid.” She is clearly incredibly proud of the pink walls (and doors), butterfly accents on around picture frames that are hung on the walls, and pink loft bunk bed. But apparently, the internet wasn’t having a good day, because far more people showed up to troll her instead of applaud her.

“Was anyone else waiting for the transformation?” Someone commented. Another added, “I never dreamed of a half finished paint job and painters tape.”

Others commented to ask where the “before” video is and another joked, “So your dream was a nightmare?”

There are some encouraging comments in there, about Sierra’s efforts as a mom and the fact that her daughter might actually love this bedroom makeover. But you really have to sift through the trolls to find those kinds of responses.

“But it’s HER room,” someone pointed out with a different, though still pretty snarky, perspective. “People really need to stop living vicariously through their children. Give her the room that she wants, not the room that you want.”

“The pink being too dark for the room, walls and doors unfinished, baby half off the bed headfirst on the floor,” another person wrote in the comments. “A lot to unpack here.”

The mom clapped back at the comments about her daughter’s bedroom.

After the internet trolls did their worst with Sierra, she kept the video up and even posted another video to respond to the haters. I mean, you have to at least give her credit where credit is due, because she did not back down. In that video, she wrote in the caption, “We are waiting on the base boards to come in, the book shelves will be painted next.”

Then, when someone asked what Sierra’s decorator does for a living, Sierra joked, “Um, she’s a full time student in 3rd grade.”
