Dad Tells C-Section Mom of Twins She Didn’t ‘Really Give Birth’

One mom's jaw-dropping story on Reddit has left people literally irate for her — and once you hear what she has to say, you'll probably be mad, too. According to Reddit user Annie_Mayfield, she was innocently joking around with her husband and her live-in nanny one night when her husband dropped a stunning accusation: she didn't really give birth, because she had a C-section.

The husband's ignorant comment came during an otherwise lighthearted chat

But the awkwardness started when the poster began to make an innocent joke about giving birth and was rudely cut off by her husband.

"No one told me that before I gave birth—," the mother of two began.

Before she could even finish what she was saying, her husband jumped in to "correct" her: "Well, you didn’t really give birth anyway, so how would you know … ?” he asked.

Needless to say, the lighthearted mood immediately disappeared and tension was palpable.

The poster remained silent until she had her husband alone — and then she let him have it.

"Later, when I was calm, I told him how offensive it was and told him to never, ever let me hear him say something like that again," the Reddit poster wrote. "Especially not in front of other women, because it shows how completely ignorant he is."

"He's lucky to be alive," she added.

He certainly is — for more than a few reasons

Aside from the fact that his comment was completely uncalled for (not to mention 100% wrong), it was especially hurtful given the difficult pregnancy and delivery experience his wife had just endured.

"I was on bedrest in the hospital for 33 days and had an emergency, middle of the night, drop the head of the bed and run C-section," the mom explained. "And then my twins were in the NICU 38 days. It was and still is traumatic."

With all that in mind, the husband's comment sure seems extra jerky.

Reddit users did not hold back on the dad in the comments

"My eyes just popped out of my head," one person wrote. "He's a lucky man … like get that man a lottery ticket, he's lucky to still be standing after that one."

"What does he think happened back there?" asked someone else. "It’s obviously birth, wtf."

"So a baby coming out of your body is what then? Magic?" another person added.

Other moms jumped in to defend the poster by sharing their own birth stories

"I had a quick unmedicated vaginal birth and a C-section terrifies me even more so than that," one mom shared. "Add in twins AND a NICU stay?! Do people just really not realize that a C-section is major surgery?!"

"As someone who had an easy vaginal birth I would argue that an emergency C-section is way harder to go through," added another. "Plus, having to go through that type of recovery, having my babies in NICU, then caring for twins … I commend you."

"The growing of the baby and/or the care after make you a mother, (depending on adoption, surrogacy etc) NOT the birth method," noted someone else. "I’m an adopted child who is an elective C-section mother. And god help anyone who tries to tell me or my mum that we aren’t mothers 'cause we didn’t give birth either ourselves or by VB."

Most of all, people were sick of hearing this tired — and offensive — narrative

"Respectfully, f-ck your husband," one person declared. "A major surgery is NOT the easy way out. You birthed your children regardless of how they came out."

Amen to THAT.
