Step 1
Wash your face, paying careful attention to the area around your eyes. Avoid soap and use a product that is gentle to the skin that won't harm your eyes. It's important that your skin is clean before your begin.
Step 2
Apply moisturizing, eye-whitening pads over your eyes. Some of these products contain collagen, hyaluronic acid and vitamins A and E. Others rely on natural plant sources like cucumber, aloe, green tea and chamomile to restore and lighten the dark areas under your eyes. Close your eyes and press the pads against your eyes. They are designed to moisturize your skin, reduce puffiness and remove the dark bruises or circles under your skin and help lighten them. Depending on the manufacturer's directions, leave the pads on from 10 minutes to a half-hour. Set an alarm, or time it in some way, such as a short task that you can complete by when it's time to remove them.
Step 3
Examine the areas under your eyes to see if they are lightened enough. If not, gently apply light-colored eye shadow or a concealer product until the areas match your skin tone.
