How to Get Soft, Flawless Legs

Step 1

Shave your legs regularly. Not only does shaving remove hair, but it also exfoliates the skin, leaving your legs much softer and smoother than before.

Step 2

Avoid hot showers or baths, which can draw the natural oils right out of your skin and leave your legs–as well as the rest of your body–dry and flaky. Instead, keep the temperature set at warm.

Step 3

Limit the time you spend in the tub or shower to no more than 15 minutes. Even if you're keeping the temperature low, long baths or showers can leach the hydrating oils from your skin.

Step 4

Swap your bar soap for a gentle cleanser or gel. These products often contain milder soaps that aren't as harsh on your skin, and many have the added bonus of oils and fats that moisturize and hydrate your skin.

Step 5

Invest in a body moisturizer. A gentle cleanser with oils or fats may not be enough to give you the soft, flawless legs you're looking for. Applying a body cream soon after bathing can help seal in moisture and re-hydrate your skin.

Step 6

Apply sunscreen whenever you wear shorts, skirts or any article of clothing exposing your legs to UV rays. Although a little color often makes your legs look shapelier, tanning can eventually lead to rough, dry skin. If you want some color, pick up tinted moisturizer–it's a much healthier option.

Step 7

Incorporate at least 30 minutes of physical activity into your daily routine. Walking, biking, swimming and jogging can all tone and strengthen the muscles in your legs, providing you with sexy, shapely gams.

Step 8

Don't smoke. Besides all the other health complications, smoking can really do a number on your skin. It narrows the blood vessels, depleting your skin of oxygen and nutrients, which ages your body before its time.
