Step 1
Blot up as much of the stain as possible with a wet cloth. Do not rub; it will cause the stain to spread and dig into the carpet deeper.
Step 2
Mix 1 part white vinegar with 3 parts warm water.
Step 3
Dip the cloth into the vinegar mixture.
Step 4
Pat the area, allowing the vinegar to set into the stain. Continue to do this until the stain is removed.
Step 5
Blot the now stain-free area with a warm damp cloth to remove traces of vinegar that were left behind.
Step 6
Dry the dampened area with a hair dryer.
