Step 1
Fill your sink half full of very warm water. Add several squirts of dish soap as the water is filling the sink. Also add 1 cup of plain white vinegar.
Step 2
Remove the burner if possible and place it the sink. (If you have a glass-top range, skip this part.) Also place the pot in the sink.
Step 3
Mix equal parts vinegar and dish soap in a small bowl and dip a clean cloth into the mixture. The vinegar will aid in removing the residue, and it will help to deodorize the area as well.
Step 4
Wipe down the stove top with the cloth when the stove is cool.
Step 5
Squirt some stove top polish onto a paper towel and apply it to the stove top with circular strokes.
Step 6
Wait five minutes and wipe the polish off with another clean paper towel.
Step 7
Scrub the pot and burner with a dish rag and return the burner to its place after it dries.
