Lindsay Arnold on Prioritizing Family, Outdoor Play, and Finding Balance as a Mom

In the latest episode of "The Breakdown with Bethany," host Bethany Braun-Silva sat down with former "Dancing with the Stars" pro Lindsay Arnold to discuss how she juggles being a mom, staying active, and managing her business. Arnold, now a mother of two, opened up about the challenges of transitioning from a career in dance to motherhood, while also making time for what matters most — her family.

As fall brings hectic schedules for many families, Lindsay emphasized the importance of prioritizing outdoor play and quality time with her daughters. She's teamed up with Juicy Juice to take the Juicy Juice pledge, encouraging parents to commit to more outdoor fun. "With all the crazy hectic schedules that we have going into the fall, I'm really trying to prioritize that," Arnold shared. "That's why I'm so excited to be taking the Juicy Juice pledge to play outside — it's all about committing to outdoor fun."

Lindsay explained how parents can easily take the pledge by visiting JuicyJuicePlayOutside.com, where they’ll also be entered for a chance to win a backyard play set and a year's supply of Juicy Juice. "It's a cool pledge because it encourages parents to do something I already believe is so important," she said. For Lindsay, creating opportunities for her daughters to play outside has been a way to keep her family grounded and focused on what really matters.

As a dancer and fitness enthusiast, Lindsay also spoke about the importance of movement, not just for physical health but for overall well-being. "I think focusing on how we feel is so important, and making movement fun is the biggest thing," she said. "Even as an adult, I work out because it makes me feel good… but I also need it to be fun and a release." She believes in teaching her children the "why" behind movement, ensuring they understand that taking care of their bodies is about more than just looks. "I have two girls, and body image will be something they'll deal with. Right now, they’re not aware of that, and I want to keep it that way as long as I can. If we teach them early to take care of their bodies for the activities they love, they'll have a healthier outlook."

Lindsay has also launched a fitness program called The Movement Club, designed to help people stay active in a way that feels good and fits into busy lifestyles. As someone who spent nearly a decade dancing professionally, she explained how shifting from a career centered around dance to becoming a mom has changed her perspective. "I am, and will always be, a dancer — that is at my core who I am. But becoming a mom and stepping away from a career I had for almost 10 years brings its challenges," she admitted. However, she found a new passion in creating The Movement Club. "It’s been so cool to take my love for dance and channel it into something new that fits my life now, while still letting me be a business owner."

In this heartfelt conversation, Lindsay offered a glimpse into her life as a mom, businesswoman, and advocate for healthy, active living. Tune in to "The Breakdown with Bethany" for more inspiring stories and tips on balancing it all.
