Household Items to Remove Grass Stains

Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is a strong cleaning element that quickly removes grass stains from clothing. Soak the garment in cold water for about one hour before treating with alcohol. Then, using the type of rubbing alcohol found with first aid supplies in your grocery store, soak a sponge or cleaning rag with the alcohol and blot over the grass stains. Continue until all grass stain residue is gone, then launder in a cold water wash cycle with your normal detergent.

White Vinegar

White vinegar is another common household product found in many kitchen pantries, and also works well in attacking and removing grass stains. To use the vinegar, mix equal parts of white vinegar and cold water in a dish. Drizzle the solution over the grass stain and work in with either your hand or a cleaning rag. Continue until you pull all of the stain out of the fabric, and launder as you normally would.

Oxygen Bleach

Oxygen bleach is a product safe for use on all fabrics, and is a strong stain removal product. To use, first soak the garment in cold water for about 20 to 30 minutes. Pour 1 cup oxygen bleach into the water and let soak for an additional 20 minutes. Rub the grass stains with your fingers and continue until all grass stain residue is removed. Launder the garment as you normally would.
