The popular blog 'Young House Love' know that kid's art can run rampant in the house. So what are proud parents, who don't want their walls overrun with every finger painting project, to do? Sherry and John Petersik are divulging their decorating secrets in their new book, 'Loveable Livable Home.' Here they show how to collage the pieces together into one, large piece of artwork that everyone will be able to enjoy.
"Kids' art is often just as cute as it is abundant. While every creation deserves to be appreciated, it often poses a storage and display challenge for those of us not planning to open a gallery anytime soon. Temporary display options like corkboards or clipboards allow you to rotate in new masterpieces easily, but even that isn't always enough to celebrate the most prolific of child Picassos.
Assuming that taking scissors to your kid's art won't illicit tears from the artiste (Clara loves cutting hers up!), consider framing a big collection of pieces cut into fun new shapes. Basic squares or circles work, but we got playful by cutting them into a Popsicle shape and mounting each atop a mini Popsicle stick. Clara loved doing this project—and requested a real Popsicle at the end," writes Petersik.
