How to Clean With Dishwashing Detergent

Step 1

Use the detergent to soak the edges of dirty dishes to get rid of lipstick marks and dried-on food. Soak a cloth or sponge in warm water and drizzle the detergent onto it. Firmly scrub over the dishes and glasses before placing them in the dishwasher.

Step 2

Disinfect the kitchen sink and rid it of greasy residue. Soak a sponge in a mixture of warm water and detergent — use approximately 1 tablespoon detergent per 4 cups water. Wipe the sink's edges and around the interior of the basin. Rinse away the suds with warm water and dry the sink with a paper towel.

Step 3

Pick up grease and crumbs along the stove top, counter tops and around the sink. Dampen a sponge or paper towels with soapy warm water. Run a clean, wet sponge over the surfaces to rinse them.

Step 4

Clean the inside and the outside of your refrigerator with a soaked sponge and then wipe the surfaces dry with paper towels or cleaning cloths. The antibacterial properties of the detergent will help freshen up crisper drawers, freezer compartments and shelves.

Step 5

Mix 1/2 cup dishwashing detergent per gallon of water to mop the floors. Be sure to rinse the floors, as these detergents can leave dulling films.
