Fans likely thought they were seeing double over the weekend when Nicole Richie posted a loving Mother's Day tribute to her mom. No, it wasn't the photos of Brenda Harvey-Richie that had folks doing a double-take, but instead, Nicole's 15-year-old daughter, Harlow, whom we haven't seen much of in years.

Nicole posted a few photos on her Instagram story
Page Six captured the since-expired post in which Nicole wished her mom a happy Mother's Day. "We all love you. Happy Mother's Day, Queen," she wrote on the picture featuring herself, mom Brenda, Harlow, and her newly married sister, Sofia Richie Grainge. The four women are all snuggled up together in the pic as they celebrated the family matriarch.

Brenda was married to Lionel Richie from 1975 to 1993, and while Nicole does bear an uncanny resemblance to her mother despite not being related to her by blood — Lionel and Brenda adopted Nicole when she was 9 from their friends who were unable to care for her — it was Harlow who caught people's eye. After watching Nicole's daughter grow up in paparazzi photos splashed across celebrity magazines, Harlow has remained out of the spotlight in recent years.

It's obvious that Nicole's DNA is strong — although we do see a few of dad Joel Madden's features in Harlow's face — because her girl is the spitting image of her mother when she was young. In fact, if Lionel Richie ever wanted to do a biopic, we think Harlow could definitely play a teenage Nicole.

Just like Nicole's famous in-laws Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, the former reality TV star likes to keep her kids' personal lives private. She almost never posts any photos of Harlow or her 13-year-old son, Sparrow. In fact, this is the first time fans have seen either of the teens on social media in years.

Nicole and Sofia were sure to make time for their mom over the holiday weekend and spend some quality time celebrating Brenda.
