Celebrities Who Became First-Time Parents in 2020

This year has been an intense one in a lot of ways, but there were plenty of moments of joy and light as well โ€” thanks, in part, to the new lives that were brought into the world. A ton of celebs had babies in 2020 or got pregnant in 2020, and several even became first-time parents.

There's nothing quite like becoming a parent for the first time. No matter how prepared a new mom or dad is, there's really no accounting for what it's actually going to be like. The learning curve is steep, but so rewarding. Any parent has to go through being a complete newbie once, and these celebs just happened to do it during one of the most challenging years ever. Total rock stars.

For anyone who needs a little infusion of joy as 2020 winds down, check out these celebs who became new parents to the cutest kids during this crazy year.

On January 3, the actress announced that she and her husband secretly had a baby girl named Raddix. Cameron was 47 at the time, which left many questioning whether she'd used a surrogate, but honestly it's none of our business. All that matters is that there's another bundle of joy in the world, and Cameron and Benji are so happy to be parents.

Abbie & John-David Duggar

The Duggar family got a little bigger in January when John-David and Abbie welcomed their first child โ€”ย a little girl named Grace Annette.
"Our lives have changed forever with the arrival of our baby girl," the new mom and dad told Us Weekly. "She is a beautiful gift from God. We are so blessed the Lord has given her to us. It's still surreal to know that we are really parents but it's a great new adventure that we are excited to take on together."

Ashley Graham

In January, the model started off the year on a high note when she gave birth to her first child. She and her husband, cinematographer Justin Ervin, named their son Isaac Menelik Giovanni. Throughout her new motherhood journey, Ashley has been real about everything from coming home with stretchmarks to breastfeeding.

Malika Haqq

Khloe Kardashian's BFF Malika Haqq gave birth to a baby boy in March. She named him Ace Flores, and he doesn't know it now, but his playdates are going to be with some of the richest celebs in the world. Must be nice, little Ace. Wanna trade lives? We'd love to hang out with Stormi or North for a day.

Hope Solo

The world works in mysterious ways. In March, soccer star Hope Solo gave birth to twins after miscarrying twins two years prior. Not only did she get one rainbow baby, but she was blessed with two. She named her little ones Vittorio Genghis and Lozen Orianna Judith. So sweet.

Rachel Bloom

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator and star Rachel Bloom had her first kid in late March, and she welcomed her daughter into the world with a pretty rockin' playlist. Makes sense since Rachel's show was a musical. She said on Late Night with Seth Meyers that her playlist included "Space Jam." She joked, "You know, I was making a labor playlist, and I was like, 'What's going to make me happy? And what's going to make me wanna push a baby out?' There was only one answer."

Jodie Turner-Smith & Joshua Jackson

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith had a hard road to becoming a first-time mother in April. She was in labor for a whopping four days while giving birth at home. After that lengthy labor, she finally welcomed her daughter Janie into the world. "Every stage of my pregnancy brought its own challenges and lessons," she told British Vogue. "Nobody really teaches you about what your body goes through to bring a child into the world until you're actually doing it."

Jill Wagner

Christmas came early for Hallmark star Jill Wagner. She welcomed her first child, a girl named Army Gray, in April. "Here is my heart. My life is finally complete," she wrote on Instagram to announce Army's arrival. And even after having a baby, Jill got back to work in no time as the star of The Angel Tree, which was included in this year's Hallmark holiday slate.

Anderson Cooper

The CNN anchor is now a proud papa. Anderson Cooper welcomed his son Wyatt Morgan in April via a surrogate. Wyatt's already had quite the exciting life, even getting named People's Cutest Baby Alive for 2020. We agree that Wyatt is extremely adorable.

Singer Grimes' boyfriend Elon Musk already had five children from a previous marriage when she gave birth to their baby boy in May. The controversial couple gave their child an equally controversial name: X ร† A-12 Musk. No one knew how to say the baby's name until Elon revealed it's pronunciation, "X Ash A Twelve." Sure.

Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas

The Game of Thrones star and her musician husband have been very private about all the details regarding their first child. Sophie gave birth to their daughter in July, yet the couple has not shared any photos of her or even confirmed her name. However, media reports suggest it could be Willa, which would be so cute, if true.

Nikki Bella & Artem Chigvintsev

Nikki and her twin sister Brie were both pregnant with boys at the same time, and they gave birth within days of each other. But for Nikki, the pregnancy was extra special because she was giving birth to her first child. Baby Matteo was born in July.

Katy Perry

When the singer gave birth to her daughter with Orlando Bloom in August, the couple named her Daisy Dove. Katy actually hinted at the name months prior, penning and releasing a new song called "Daisies." See, Taylor Swift's not the only singer who can hide messages in her songs. Katy even got a daisy manicure for the birth.

Lea Michele

Glee star Lea Michele and her husband Zandy Reich are parents now. The actress went into labor in August and their son soon joined the world. They named the little boy Ever, which she alluded to in her pregnancy announcement, writing, "ForEver grateful for this true blessing." Clever. She and Katy Perry should talk.

The singer and his wife, Cherry, announced in early September that they were now proud parents. Ed's daughter is named Lyra,ย which sounds an awful lot like lyrics, aka the things he writes all the time. Cute, cute. Her full name is Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, which is a whole lot of name for a tiny baby. He hasn't yet shared any photos.

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik

In September, Gigi Hadid welcomed a baby girl with former One Direction member Zayn Malik. We still don't know what their little one's name is, so fans have taken to calling her Baby Zigi, a cute combo of her parents' first names. The duo haven't shared many pictures of her face yet, but every glimpse we do get of her new bundle of joy is so exciting.

Melissa Benoist & Chris Wood

Melissa and Chris met on the set of Supergirl and soon struck up a relationship, marrying in 2019. Now the two are the proud first-time parents of a little boy. The pair welcomed him in September and named him Huxley Robert Wood. "This little boy is everything," Melissa wrote alongside a photo of her tiny son's hand.

Billie Lourd

Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie surprised everyone when she revealed she'd given birth to a baby boy in September. No one knew she was even pregnant! She and her fiancรฉ, Austen Rydell, named their little one Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell. His middle name honors Billie's late mother.

Nicki Minaj

The rap star announced her pregnancy pretty late, posting a photo to Instagram of her big bump in July. Then, in October, she gave birth to a baby boy with her husband Kenneth Petty. She hasn't shared his name or photos of his face, but she did give fans a reveal of his little baby foot on Instagram. Perhaps in time, she'll share more.

Rupert Grint

The Harry Potter star had a pretty big surprise for fans when he joined Instagram in November. For his first post, he shared a photo of his newborn daughter with girlfriend Georgia Groome. She was born back in May and named Wednesday G. Grint, perhaps alluding to the day of the week she was born.
