When it comes to welcoming another baby into the world, you should always be prepared for the unexpected, and that's exactly what new mom Jessie J tried to do when she welcomed her son recently. In fact, she even shared the details of her birth while doing the viral "Baby Mama" dance. It's good to see she kept a sense of humor about the whole thing!

Jessie shared the video straight from her hospital room
And although she was dancing and having fun in the video, the caption on her post took a far more somber tone.
"I spent 9 months prepping for a natural birth. Strict food, the epi no, yoga, swimming, hypnobirthing methods. I had a tens machine, a birthing comb, I wanted a pool birth ideally with no medication," she wrote. "BUT this was MY plan to stay disciplined and focused. I knew full well it could and would most likely go in a completely different direction."
She had to change her plans when her baby was breech
Jessie was open to changing her plans if it meant keeping her baby safe, and that's exactly what happened when she was told her baby was breech and she was unsuccessful in trying to get him to flip around.
"I was advised to have a planned C section for the safest birth. This video was taken 5 minutes before I went down to surgery. I went into active labour the night before and feeling all the feels but mostly just excitement for us to meet our baby boy," she explained.
She may not have gotten the birth she thought she wanted
But in the end, she says the healthy baby was the true end goal.
"I guess I’m sharing this because so many people have said, 'Do you feel like you missed out on the birth you wanted?'" she said. "I had a birth and it was everything I wanted because I got him at the end of it, that’s all that matters."

Jessie's baby boy arrived last month
In May, she took to her Instagram Stories to share the good news.
"The feeling is indescribable. I am falling in love," she said. "He is magic. He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole [world]. He and I are both doing great. I am soaking up every second and still can’t believe he is real, here, and mine. I am so grateful. Phew."
After coping with pregnancy loss and a tough first trimester, Jessie finally has the rainbow baby she's been dreaming of.

And while the 35-year-old singer is in the throes of the newborn sleep-deprivation period, we don't doubt that she appreciates the full weight of what being a mom really means after waiting so long for this time in her life to happen. Fingers crossed for more updates soon!
