Like mother, like daughter. Bindi Irwin is showing fans just how much her 2-year-old, Grace, has in common with her animal-loving mama. On Tuesday, she shared a photo of Grace mugging with a giant tortoise, re-creating a special picture from her own childhood.

The pictures were shared as part of a video clip
Bindi posted a three-photo montage, highlighting how much she and her little girl have in common. "Holding my newborn daughter, wondering if she'll love wildlife like I did growing up," she captioned the first image, which shows her gazing down at a tiny Grace shortly after her March 2021 birth.
The side-by-side pics highlight how much the two behave and look alike

There's no denying that the Irwin genes are strong in Grace. Not only does she look so much like her mother in the throwback photo that Bindi shared of herself as a toddler, but she's also behaving just like her animal conservationist mom as she snuggles up to a tortoise just like Bindi did all those years ago.
Fans loved the snapshots as much as we did
People took to the comments to remark on how much Bindi and Grace look alike, with one person writing, "The apple does not fall far from the tree."
Another person shared that Grace reminded her of another Irwin, Bindi's late dad, Steve Irwin, and his passion for protecting wildlife. "No matter what is happening in the world, seeing videos you share of Grace gives me hope for Earth's future," she wrote.
They also asked the most important questions
One person posed the question on all of our minds: Is that the same turtle in both pictures? Unfortunately, Bindi never weighed in, but several amateur turtle experts did, and the reviews were mixed. While many thought it was possible — one person pointed out that the family has shared photos of a similar looking tortoise before that is more than 20 years old — some noticed distinct differences between the two creatures.

We hope Bindi continues to re-create some of her cherished childhood memories
The 24-year-old had an enviable childhood growing up at the Australian Zoo with her father, who made sure to include her in all of his wildlife adventures, so she has plenty of absolutely priceless photos that she could easily reimagine with Grace. Not only is it a cute thing for the mother-daughter duo to share, but it also allows fans who grew up watching Bindi experience a little nostalgia from their own childhoods, which is also pretty priceless.
