Heather Rae El Moussa Slammed for ‘Tone Deaf’ Post About Son’s First Flight on Private Jet

It seems that Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa may not be getting the response she expected to one of her most recent Instagram posts. After Heather shared the details of her baby's first flight on a private jet, she's getting called out for being "tone deaf."

Heather shared photos of the flight on Instagram this week

In the pictures, we can see her sitting with the son she shares with Tarek El Moussa, 3-month old Tristan, on the plane. It looks like Tarek's older children from his previous marriage to Christina Hall, Taylor and Brayden, were also along for the ride, and everyone appeared to have a good time.

Not that we're surprised — how could anyone have a bad time on a private jet?

They took a family trip to the Flipping Summit

The conference, which took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, featured real estate pros like Heather and Tarek sharing what they know. And in her Instagram comments, Heather offered up the mom tip she found most helpful on her flight.

"Tristan did such an incredible job and mom-tip, I breast fed him on the way up and then again on the way down to help with ear popping — It worked perfectly and then the rest of the flight he just giggled, played and looked around and was so happy & didn’t cry once … he loved the new environment," she wrote.

Heather is now getting a lot of backlash on her post

It seems as if many of her followers didn't find value in that mom tip, considering the fact that it's obviously much easier to fly private with a baby than it is to fly commercial.

"Love that it went well but many moms can’t relate to your flight experience on a private jet," one person wrote.

Another commenter added, "Private jets do not count as 'traveling' on his first flight. Once you are surrounded by hundreds of people, petrified your child will scream his head off — is when you can say you traveled."

Heather and Tarek may not have been too impressed with the criticism

Though it doesn't appear that Heather responded directly to those who slammed her for taking a private jet, Tarek has. In response to one of the negative comments, another person pointed out that the breastfeeding tip could be useful regardless of the type of plane someone's on, to which Tarek responded with three clapping emoji.

Interesting …

There's no doubt that Heather's family leads a privileged life

Between their successful real estate and renovation reality shows and other business ventures, Tarek and Heather have set themselves up pretty well. But not everyone has been lucky enough to enjoy this level of success, so it makes sense that people aren't finding Heather's flying tips quite as helpful as she might have thought they would.
