Giving birth is no easy task, and that's something that this celebrity mom has now had the chance to learn firsthand. In a new interview, Gina Rodriguez revealed she injured herself as she delivered her first child, but it sounds like she's not letting it stop her from enjoying this new chapter in her life.

Gina recently welcomed her first child
In March, Gina and her husband, Jo LoCicero, became parents to a baby boy they named Charlie. And though they haven't shared many details about their little one publicly in the two months after his birth, Gina has opened up about one of the more challenging parts of her motherhood experience so far.
She was injured during birth
While talking to Us Weekly, Gina shared that she injured her hip while giving birth.
"Childbirth is hard! After giving birth, my hip was badly hurt during delivery," she admitted. "Getting back into a fitness routine has helped me recover and better understand how to live in my new post-baby body. But I make sure not to push myself. I make sure to slowly ease into this new and more profound life-giving body."
She also shared an update on baby Charlie

It sounds like he's already growing so fast, even though he just got here. According to Gina, her son is already smiling, laughing, and rolling over.
"It’s been sitting in gratitude for this new life that has shown me that I am now whole. It’s been recovering and healing. Moving and sitting still. It’s been experiencing the totality of every life emotion," she said.

She's embracing her new postpartum body
"I try to remind myself just how incredible this body is, it’s a miracle and I am so grateful to it, it gave life to an amazing baby boy!" she said. "It also helps me reframe my thinking about returning to the gym. Working out gives me an opportunity to have some 'me' time, allowing me to live a more vibrant life for myself and my family."
Our bodies go through a lot of changes while pregnant, so it makes sense that they can be a little (or a lot) different after the baby is born. Good for Gina for taking such a positive approach!
It sounds like her first few months of motherhood are going well
Minus the hip injury, of course … but hopefully, she'll be fully recovered from that soon.
Our fingers are crossed that Gina will share more details about baby Charlie in the near future. In the meantime, we hope she's getting all those newborn cuddles in! This time goes by way too fast.
