Ice-T and Coco Austin have always done their own thing when it comes to parenting their daughter, Chanel, and their latest reveal is bound to create a bit of controversy. In a new interview, Ice-T said that Chanel still sleeps in their bed with them … even at 7 years old.

Ice-T feels more "connected" to Chanel than to his other children
While appearing on the "That Moment With Daymond John" podcast on Tuesday, he admitted that he's closer to Chanel than he is with his older kids, 47-year-old LeTesha and 31-year-old Tracy.

He's no longer "distracted" by his career at this point in his life
These days, he has more time to focus just on Chanel, which has really changed their daddy/daughter relationship — as has the family's sleeping arrangements, apparently.
"I’m comfortable [now]. I’m in a cruise pattern. I was there when Coco was pregnant, I went to the hospital, and Chanel still sleeps in the bed with us," he said.
Ice-T and Coco have often made choices that go against the grain
Coco has spoken out on multiple occasions about the way she feels mom-shamed for how she's chosen to raise her daughter.
At times it's been over things like their sleeping arrangements, and at others it's been about the types of videos she and Chanel like to make for her online followers.

Their setup certainly seems to work for them
While Ice-T and Coco tend to go at their own pace when it comes to Chanel's growth and milestones — she's stayed in a stroller for longer than many kids have, for one example — to us, it looks like they're giving their little girl the chance to grow up on her own timeline.

Chanel seems to be a happy child
It's pretty common for kids to bed-share with their parents when they're younger, and there's no doubt that Chanel will probably outgrow the habit when the time feels right. In the meantime, we know that her parents must love soaking in all the extra cuddles while they can.
