2022 is almost over, which makes it the perfect time to take a look back on the year in celebrity news. As always, there were shocking moments (that slap at the Oscars, Kanye's many meltdowns), surprising splits (who knew Tom and Gisele were on such shaky ground?), and some major moments in music, TV, and movies (new tunes from Lizzo, Beyoncé, and Taylor — yay!). But the cutest and most delightful celebrity news is always when stars announce that they have welcomed a new baby.
Though a few celebs — including Chrissy Teigen and at least one of Nick Cannon's girlfriends — are still waiting to pop, it's been a busy baby year. From professional athletes to actors to reality TV stars, we've seen celebs grow their families in lots of wonderful ways, including surrogacy.
This roundup is a good reminder that love is what makes a family and that, yes, extremely good-looking people can sometimes make some awfully cute babies. While some celebrities have been annoyingly tight-lipped about key baby details (how is it that we still don't know what either Kylie or Khloé named their little guys?), we're sharing all that we know about the adorable new additions from some of our favorite stars.
Kylie Jenner

In February 2022, Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Travis Scott welcomed their second child, a baby boy. As of now, Kylie still hasn't released a full picture of the little one or confirmed what his new name is (since their first choice of Wolf didn't end up working out). Such mystery from the family who claims to tell fans everything!
Andy Cohen
We would never want to make babies compete with each other, but can we just say that the cheeks on Andy Cohen's new daughter might be hard to beat? Look at that sweet face! Little Lucy Eve was born via surrogate in April, weighing in at a healthy 8 pounds, 13 ounces.
Michelle Kwan
Two-time Olympian Michelle Kwan became a mom at the age of 41 this year. Michelle, who usually keeps her personal life pretty private, couldn't help but gush on Instagram, writing, "I'm overjoyed and tears of happiness are streaming down my face as I share the news of the arrival of Kalista Belle Kwan! I've always wanted to be a mom and, to me, she's a perfect miracle. I had a hard time picturing what she might look like yet it seems like she's been in my life forever. This has been a challenging journey to motherhood (not to mention a very long labor!!!), and I'm glad I never gave up."
Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson made two big announcements this year. The first was that she'd found love with a woman and the second was that she'd become a mom. That is one amazing year. Little Royce was born in November, and Rebel excitedly shared the moment on Instagram: "I can't even describe the love I have for her, she's a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved (you know who you are). This has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family — it's an amazing gift."
Ashley Graham
Model mama Ashley Graham doubled her baby joy in 2022 with the January birth of her twin sons, Malachi and Roman. She and husband Justin Ervin now have three boys under the age of 3, as the couple also has a son named Isaac. That's a lot of babies, but Ashley seems to be killing it!
Shay Mitchell
Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell became a mom for the second time in 2022. Her daughter Rome Babel was born in early June and was a bright spot in a tough year for Shay, whose beloved grandmother died in January. "Losing the most important person in my life in the same year I welcomed my second daughter has shifted everything for me, but one thing remains steady in my soul — I'm certain they spent time together and that brings me peace and joy," the actress wrote on Instagram. "We're so happy you're here, Rome, named after my best friend, my soulmate, my "person," my Grandma Romaine."
J.J. Watt
NFL superstar J.J. Watt and his pro soccer player wife, Kealia Watt, added a future sports star to their roster this year. Celebrating the arrival of son Koa James in October, J.J. gushed on Instagram, "Love and happiness have reached heights we never even knew existed."
Patrick & Brittany Mahomes
Could there be an NFL kid playdate brewing in the future? J.J. Watt wasn't the only big football name to welcome a baby this year. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, announced the birth of their second child, a son nicknamed Bronze, in late November. He joins big sister Sterling, who celebrated her first birthday in February.
Eve
Rapper Eve welcomed her first child with husband Maximillion Cooper in February. Their son may win the title of longest celebrity baby name of 2022: The little guy is named Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper. Whew, that's a mouthful!
Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Modern Family star and Broadway actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita, grew their family with the help of a surrogate this year. In November, Jesse announced that their second child, Sullivan Louis Ferguson-Mikita, made his big debut.
Khloé Kardashian
Here's what we know about Khloé's second child: He's a boy, he was born in August via surrogate, and he shares the same dad (NBA player and serial cheater Tristan Thompson) as her daughter, True. What we don't know? HIS NAME. Ugh. Why are the Kardashian/Jenners being so coy about this?
Rihanna & A$AP Rocky
We know that Rihanna had absolutely killer maternity style and confidence and that she gave birth to her baby boy in May, but the "Umbrella" singer has been pretty reserved about sharing both her son's name and any pictures of him. We're guessing he's got pretty great style already, though, with mama RiRi in charge of his wardrobe.
Anderson Cooper
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are good friends, so we're guessing they'll be doing lots of daddy/baby hangouts together this year. Anderson and his former partner Benjamin Maisani welcomed their second child, a little boy named Sebastian, in February.
Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon welcomed not one, not two, not three, but four babies in 2022. In June, he announced the birth of son Legendary Love with model Bre Tiesi. In September, he and photographer LaNisha Cole shared the news of the arrival of daughter Onyx Ice Cole. September was a busy month, as he and Brittany Bell welcomed baby boy Rise Messiah. In November, Abby De La Rosa and Nick shared the news that their daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin, had arrived.
Kate Mara
Actress Kate Mara (perhaps best known for her role in House of Cards) is married to fellow actor Jamie Bell. The two welcomed their second child (name not yet revealed) in November. All that Kate has revealed so far is a picture of his little toes, but who doesn't love baby toes?
Nick Jonas & Priyanka Chopra
Nick Jonas and wife Priyanka Chopra's daughter, Malti, was born via surrogate in January, but spent more than 100 days in the NICU due to her prematurity. Her happy parents annouced that she had finally come home in May. "Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let's get it, M! Mommy and Daddy love you," Nick wrote on Instagram at the time.
