When it comes to controlling the chaos that comes with having kids who inevitably seem to collect roughly one million toys, books, craft supplies, and other assorted plastic crap before they even hit the toddler stage, there are a couple of approaches. There are the moms who are making it work in apartments where the people outnumber the bedrooms. There are moms struggling in old houses that have lots of charm but zero closet space. And then there are the lucky celebrity moms.
Celebrity moms have the triplet gifts of space, money, and access to professional home decorators and organizers (yep, the rainbow-obsessed ladies from The Home Edit got their hands on several of the celebs in this post!) that make it possible for them to have playrooms that are beyond functional and fun. Now, given that celebs seem to change houses as often as some of us go to the dentist, some of these examples might not be the current playrooms of our fave celebs, but that doesn't make them any less fabulous. For example, Eddie Murphy's old playroom had an adjacent fully functional bowling alley, for heaven's sake! Who cares that it was from 15 years ago? That is still freaking cool. Read on for more dreamy play spaces and real estate envy.
Kevin & Danielle Jonas
Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle went for a "girly glam" vibe for their playroom, which was designed by Vanessa Antonelli. We love the gray and pink palette, which is perfectly feminine for two young daughters without being overwhelming.
Kim Kardashian
We all know that, when it comes to interior design, Kim Kardashian is known for her love of harsh minimalist spaces, but there is a much softer side to her house. Her kids' playroom is massive and filled with enough toys to keep a whole preschool happy. Not going to lie, we're jealous of the storage, the color-coded Lego, the massive closet, and the fact that she has staff to do all the picking up at night.
Kourtney Kardashian
In 2019, Kourtney Kardashian gave a little peek of the standalone playhouse for her kids — swoon. It was designed by her ex Scott Disick and was designated as a no-electronics zone to encourage creative, unplugged play. All we know is that if that space had a bathroom, she could probably rent it out for thousands of dollars a month as a dreamy studio apartment.
Christine Chiu
Christine Chiu, star of Netflix's Bling Empire and recent contestant on Dancing With the Stars, went oh-so L.A. for her son Gabriel's playroom. The space features a mural of iconic L.A. landmarks that can get colored in as Gabriel grows up, and he already has a mini Tesla so he can pretend he's cruising down the 405.
Gigi Hadid

It's always take your daughter to work day for model Gigi Hadid, who is mom to 1-year-old Khai. Gigi showed off the way she split her office into two spaces to create a sweet space for Khai, including a mini ball pit, a cozy tent, and plenty of soft stuffed animals to snuggle with.
Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy has had some major real estate deals in his past, including a home called Bubble Hill that featured this gigantic playroom plus a bowling alley and an outdoor park area with a kid-friendly playground. Given that Eddie has a whopping 10 kids, it's no wonder he carved out space for fun. In 2012, the Daddy Daycare star sold this property to another famous parent: Alicia Keys. No word on whether the bowling alley and playroom are still in place now, but we hope so (but maybe with a little bit less dated carpet?).
Nicky Hilton Rothschild

We're not sure what we are more obsessed with here: the striped ceiling, the super-fun candy box wall clings, or the fact that this playroom for Nicky Hilton's daughters also features an entire wall that is covered in Lego plates to allow for vertical building. So fun!
Lucy Liu
Anyone who thinks a playroom has to be filled with plastic toys or painted some overly bright primary color really needs to check out Lucy Liu's ultra-sophisticated playroom for her son, Rockwell. This space has such a calm vibe and is totally somewhere an adult would want to hang out, too.
John Legend & Chrissy Teigen
Like a lot of parents during the pandemic, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had to figure out homeschooling spaces for their kids. Unlike a lot of parents, they were able to create this dreamy playroom/preschool setup for their daughter, Luna, and her little learning pod. Who wouldn't want to learn the alphabet in this amazing space?
Mindy Kaling
OK, this isn't quite an epic picture. This is more like a sneak peek into Mindy Kaling's playroom, but we love what we can see here. And, yes, she is one of the celebs who collaborated with The Home Edit, though not for one of the episodes of their Netflix show. That's a bummer, because we'd love to get a look at the rest of this cheerful space.
Tyler Hubbard
Country singer Tyler Hubbard, part of the Florida Georgia Line duo, was featured on the second season of The Home Edit for the transformation of this playroom. The space used to be an adult-friendly wet bar and hangout zone, but now it's become a bright and cheerful playroom for his three kids (all of whom are under the age of 6), so this space will no doubt get a lot of use.
Molly Sims
Model mom Molly Sims also has three kids and she's leaned into the reality of that, which we can see with the cheeky "happy mess" wall sign in the white room that features strong red accents. We know all the parents struggling for more storage space are giving major heart eyes to all that built-in storage and those shelves.
Cristiano Ronaldo
International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has five kids, so his family probably makes the most out of their massive playroom. This space includes soft carpet, a green velvet couch, and — best of all — an indoor bounce house!
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow's kids are mostly grown-up now (daughter Apple is 18 and son Moses is 16), but that doesn't mean we still can't swoon over her ultra-clean and organized Hamptons playroom from 2017. According to the organizing team behind The Home Edit, this space was their favorite playroom design project of all time. "We divided the room into activities on the left, and leisure on the right, and created zones for reading, games, art, crafts, and science," they explained of their design vision.
Serena Williams
Serena Williams once joked on Instagram, "Sometimes I have to throw my hands up in the air. #thismama Used to have a living room. Now I just have a playroom." Though she seemed to imply that she misses her old space, we still think this playroom is pretty epic. We see super-high ceilings, a perfect rug, a comfortable couch, and allllll that space.
