Being a dad is not an easy gig. Brody Jenner wasn’t sure he was up to the task. He didn’t think he even wanted to apply for the job until he met fiancée Tia Blanco.
That is when everything clicked for Brody. He realized that with the right partner almost anything is possible. Their daughter, Honey, was born last July. Brody loves being a dad, and his hesitation is now a faint memory. The couple is planning on having more children. He opened up to People about his journey to fatherhood.
Brody can’t say enough good things about Tia. “I got really lucky in that regard,” he gushed. “Tia has just been my savior. She’s just such an incredible mom and partner, so I got really lucky with her for sure. I’m glad that I held out and waited and was able to find the right person to start a family with.”
Perhaps part of the reason Brody was unsure about fatherhood was because of his own upbringing. He is the son of Linda Thompson and Caitlyn Jenner. Brody has been open about the fact that Caitlyn was not around much in his childhood after his parents’ divorce. The pair have a strained relationship.

Another reason Brody was on the fence was his friends’ experiences. “I think that I had a lot of friends who sort of influenced me to think that it was a lot harder than it is,” he explained. “I didn’t have very many friends around me that were loving their relationships. They sort of were like, ‘Oh, this is so tough, and it’s even harder with a kid.’ So I think that influenced a lot of my decision-making. I didn’t have that many people just saying, ‘Parenthood is the best thing ever.’ But it is the best thing ever.”
Brody loves being a dad, and he couldn’t imagine his life any other way. “I’m really enjoying fatherhood. I feel like it’s just a new chapter, and Tia is amazing. She’s just been an incredible mother. I know how lucky I am,” he said. “Becoming a parent is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life.”
Brody loves being a girl dad. “I had no idea how much I would enjoy it,” he gushed.
He and Tia are exploring the idea of having another baby. “At first I thought maybe I want a boy to carry the name, all that stuff, and then when it was a girl, I don’t know what it is, but I could have 10 more girls. I know Tia wants a boy next. I love being a girl dad. That relationship between the father and the daughter … it’s just incredible,” he concluded. Time will tell what surprises their next baby will bring.
