Jeannette Kaplun

An award-winning journalist, conference speaker and internationally-recognized parenting writer, Jeannette Kaplun has more than 17 years of experience on TV, radio, online media and as a published author. Born in Texas and raised in Chile, she is truly bilingual and bicultural and is the founder of Hispana Global, a site for women who want to feel, look and do their best. Jeannette was also one of the hosts for the Climate Reality Project’s live broadcast 24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report. Jeannette lives in Miami, Florida, with her husband and two children.

She began blogging about motherhood in 2000 and is known as one of the leading Latina bloggers. In 1999, she co-founded Todobebé, and co-hosted the Emmy-nominated network TV show ¡Viva la Familia! on Univision and Todobebé on Telemundo before that. Jeannette is the author of Todobebé: Todo lo que necesitas saber para el primer año de tu bebé (Rayo, 2006).

What was your favorite toy growing up?

I had a plush blue seal that I called "mi foca favorita" (my favorite seal) and I used to take it with me everywhere. I used to hug it every night when I went to sleep.
