Clara Gonzalez is a freelance food photographer and writer living in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. While her career started as an industrial designer, Clara has been for over a decade the camera and face behind Aunt Clara's Kitchen, the award-winning blog that celebrates food in general, and Dominican food and culture in particular. Mother to 7-year-old Nadia, Clara is trying to maintain her Dominican culinary heritage for her multilingual, multicultural child, while changing traditional dishes to make them both easier to prepare, and healthier for all members of the family.
What was your favorite toy growing up?
I know it sounds a bit lame, but it had to have been my books. I was a voracious reader from age 4, and I didn't spend nearly as much time playing as I should have because there were books to be read.
