What to Know
If there is one thing everyone knows about Nick Cannon, it’s that he has a lot of kids. Currently, Cannon has 11 kids split between six women. And it’s hard to know if he’s done or if another kid will magically appear one day. Because of this, it’s not surprising that his oldest kids, twins Monroe and Moroccan, who he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey, may have feelings about their family dynamic. Monroe actually shared her feelings on social media, and people had a lot of feelings about it. But now, Nick is speaking out and saying what allegedly really happened.
She got candid in a way only a teen girl can.
Back in November 2025, the then 14-year-old shared a post in her Instagram Story making claims about her family.
“clearing something up guys!” she wrote. “i only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon. i do have other half siblings from my dad but they are all many many years younger than me!”
The post began to spread around social media, and a lot of people had big feelings about the teen, who goes by Roe, and what she said.
One commenter placed the blame squarely on Nick Cannon. “He decided to go have all of those kids SEPARATELY. It’s up to him to bridge this gap. She’s also young and probably pissed that her dad now has 10 other kids. Let her feel how she feels. This is her life,” one person wrote on Instagram.
People had mixed reactions to what she said.
“Period, them her daddy kids 😂,” someone else wrote.
“Before yall come on her trying to correct her has anyone seen Nick pictured will all his kids at one time! Aw okay this is what happens when you create these kind of homes!”
“She probably has no emotional attachment to them kids so i agree 🤷🏾♂️ and it’s not her fault either,” a comment read.
“Somebody take her phone. Been listening to adults talk. Y’all are all children… family should just be family. Trying to create a division at 14 is nasty work! Praying she will see it differently later!!”
“She basically saying: “Those are my daddy kids NOT my siblings” 🤣🤣🤷🏽♀️” another person wrote.
Now, Nick Cannon is speaking about his daughter’s comment.
In a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, he addressed the post, trying to offer alleged context to what Roe said.
“It’s so funny, because the world thought that it was about a conversation that was something that it wasn’t.” he said.
“There was a couple kids online saying that they were my kids’ siblings. Like, ‘Oh, that’s my sister, oh, that’s my brother.’ So my daughter wanted to clear it up and be like, ‘I only have one brother, like literally in her age group. All these other guys that are saying they’re my brother are not my brother,’” he claimed.
He claimed that the discourse and alleged misinterpretation “upset” the teen.
Cannon then used the experience as a teachable moment.
“I was like, ‘But let this be a lesson that you gotta be very careful what you say on social media. People will take something very small and blow it up to something that you don’t have control over anymore,’” he said.
According to Cannon, Roe “was apologetic to me and to her other siblings.”
“It was a great lesson for my teenage daughter to learn where, like, you don’t have to say everything that you feel on social media because people ‘gon take it and run with it.”
