The name Kareem means “generous,” so it’s a super-fitting moniker for a month that contains the Thanksgiving holiday. Plus, the child will have basketball star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as their celebrity name twin, and that’s pretty cool.

A quintessential part of Thanksgiving day is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. If the nostalgia of watching the parade growing up means a lot to your family, the name Macy could be really sweet for a little girl born in November — especially if she makes her appearance on actual Thanksgiving.

Not only is sage a pretty green fall color, it’s a key ingredient in many delicious Thanksgiving dishes. So it’s cute and on theme for a November baby. But it stands on its own as just a unique name for a little girl. There were 1,945 baby girls named Sage in 2023, according to the Social Security Administration data.

Another popular fall color is olive green. We love Olive as a name for baby girls, but if you have a boy born in November, why not go for Oliver? People wouldn’t really know that it’s a subtle nod to the baby’s birth month, but it could be a sweet homage within the family.

The poppy flower is a symbol for remembrance, often used in conjunction with honoring veterans, according to Arlington, Virgina’s website. Since November 11 is Veterans Day, Poppy would be a sweet baby name for little girls born into military families.

Babies born in the first half of the month (October 23 through November 21) are Scorpios. If you have a little Scorpio, you can pay homage to the star sign’s element, water, with the baby’s name. Dylan means “sea” and it’s gender-neutral.

The last part of the word November makes for a great baby name for either boys or girls, though it’s most commonly used for girls. It also works pretty well if the baby is a Sagittarius (born November 22 through December 21), since the element for that star sign is fire.

For Sagittarius babies, the corresponding element is fire, notes People magazine. We love the gender-neutral name Keegan. It comes from the Gaelic meaning “little fiery one.” Perfect for any child who comes into the world already in a feisty mood.

Another name option for Sagittarius babies is Archer, or Archie for short. That’s because the symbol associated with this star sign is a centaur holding a bow and arrow, per the Encyclopedia Britannica. This name got a big celeb boost when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle named their firstborn son Archie.

Jupiter

According to Allure, the ruling planet for the Sagittarius sign is Jupiter. That would make for a very unique baby name for either boys or girls. It’s actually what High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale named her daughter. Celestial and original is a fun combo.

Per The Old Farmer’s Almanac, one of the key traits of a Scorpio is “unwavering loyalty.” As such, the name Caleb is a perfect one for Scorpio boys, because it comes from the Hebrew for “faithful.” In 2023, Caleb was the 51st most popular boys’ name, per the Social Security Administration.

November marks the end of daylight saving time, so we think a name honoring light could be kind of cool for a November baby. How about Diana? It means “luminous,” so it’s perfect for a radiant baby girl. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also a name shared by one of the most beloved royals of all time.

Elaine
