Woman’s Crash Out After Insurance Denies Heart Surgery Has People Taking Her Side

Paying monthly premiums for health insurance, car insurance, home owner’s insurance, and any other seemingly crucial insurance you can think of should be all you need to make sure you are covered in the event of a terrible accident or incident in your life. Right? Wrong. And one woman on TikTok, Noah Jones, has a major crash out in a video about being denied coverage for heart surgery despite paying out thousands per year for her health insurance.

Her crash out is pretty dramatic and might even be entertaining to some, but, uh, it’s actually extremely valid on account of the fact that one might assume if you pay for health insurance, you can be eligible for important lifesaving surgeries. Apparently, that’s a wild thought, though, because in Noah’s case, she is not immediately approved for a surgery she desperately needs.

Her video had tons of people agreeing about the sham of health insurance in the U.S.

Valid crash out.

Noah screams about how she was told her health insurance doesn’t cover the heart surgery she needs to live. So, if she wants the procedure, she has to pay $60,000. That’s on top of what she already pays to maintain her insurance. While some users on TikTok urged her to start a GoFundMe, others pointed out the unfairness of the U.S. healthcare system. And on Reddit, someone shared her video in a post about her “valid crash out.” Because it is so incredibly valid when you consider what she and so many others are going through.

“The richest country in the world would rather give tax cuts to the rich than support its citizens,” one Redditor commented on the thread.

“Hey, someone has to pay for those yachts and private airplanes with their lives,” another user wrote, as a joke, but not really joking, obviously.

When someone asked why the U.S. doesn’t have free healthcare, people pointed out that there are too many companies that want profits that are linked to the healthcare system.

“Don’t forget, the same people that own our health insurance companies also own the pharmacies and medical billing businesses, so they determine how much the medicine and care costs, then collects the amount they deemed it worth,” another person commented.

She said she pays $10,000 per year for her health insurance

Noah starts off her video already clearly mid-crash out. She explains that she spends $10,000 per year in health insurance, yet she was denied for “emergency heart surgery.” She says she was told she will have to pay for the procedure out of pocket. Through yelling and tears, which is probably kind of cathartic, Noah explains her situation.

“I’m already giving you $10,000 a year,” she says. “I have to have this surgery. I’m gonna f—ing die if I don’t and you want me to pay another $60,000 not to die? Are you joking?”

She then explains that she was born with a heart condition that she has been treated for and that she has been paying her health insurance for years.

“I’ve never had a problem with it before, and now, because of Donald f—ing Trump and all of the changes that he has made, I can’t have the f—ing heart surgery I need to have in order to literally live!”

She shared an update about her health insurance claim.

After Noah shared her crash out about her insurance claim denial, she posted a follow-up video with a bit of good news. In it, she said she was actually approved for her surgery. She is still working on her insurance provider to cover it fully, but, she reveals, one part that was not approved initially was her anesthesia.

But when she spoke to a representative, they approved it and explained that AI actually denied that portion of her claim. Excuse me, ma’am, what? AI is just out here denying medical claims for real live humans now? Great. At the very least, though, Noah’s story has a somewhat happy ending. I mean, she lived, so there’s that.
