Melissa Beeler (@melissa_beeler_), a popular mom influencer and content creator, is known for sharing funny parenting videos with her large following. But a recent video featuring her husband Ryan is what has everyone on Instagram cackling right now — especially fellow wives who know the unique frustration that is sending their husband to the grocery store.

The clip was originally shared in early February, but it is still going viral
In it, Beeler confesses to making her husband "a huge grocery list with pictures to help him out at the store."
Clearly, she was trying to avoid the endless questions men sometimes hit you with when you send them to pick up some items from the grocery store. Often, that means getting multiple calls that interrupt you in the middle of whatever you're doing back home. Suddenly, you find yourself describing in-depth what they should be looking for, what the packaging looks like, and where it is located in the store.
When this happens, most women are left with the same thought: I should have just done this myself. But instead of putting herself through that frustration one more time, Beeler decided to go a different route.
Instead of a traditional list, Beeler printed out color photos of the items she needed
This way, her husband could compare the packaging on the list to the packaging of what he was seeing in the aisle, and hopefully not have any further questions.
Because the images were so large, Beeler had to make her "list" on a giant piece of poster board, which her husband is seen carrying all over the store. Each time he gets something right, he puts an "X" over the product and moves on to the next one — like a little game!

Though her tactics may seem a bit extreme, they worked
Beeler reports that her husband "gained confidence" with every aisle and didn't seem to ask for her help once. As a result, he was able to cross multiple staple items off their grocery list, including grape jelly, bananas, cereal, and tampons.
"I've never seen him take something so seriously," the influencer shared in her post caption. "He was on a mission."
Beeler insists it all started as a harmless joke
"I made my husband the giant grocery shopping list with pictures as a joke to get his reaction and then dared him to actually take it inside to shop," she continues in her post caption. "Of course he accepted the challenge, and I had to tag along and watch."
Judging by the comments, a lot of women could relate.
"This is definitely my husband," one Instagrammer shared. "Always asking me to send a picture. SMH. I'm like, 'We buy the same stuff all the time, how by now you don't know this already unless the packaging has changed?'"
"It's like that show in Japan where they send 3-4 year-olds out on their own to run errands," another person quipped.
One user called it "the best thing I’ve ever seen," while another said it was "quite genius."
But not everyone is seeing the humor in it
In fact, quite a few commenters found it offensive and even mildly sexist.
"Keep treating him like a child, no way he is happy," one person wrote. "Men don’t need a mother as a wife/partner."
"I'd be mortified if I had to send my man to the store like this," added someone else.
"If she had to the time to do a whole arts and craft project she could go and get the groceries herself instead of then getting angry when the husband gets the wrong items," another person snapped.
In response, other users chimed in to tell angry commenters they should probably calm down.
"This comment sections needs to learn to have fun," one person wrote.
"I miss the 80's," said another. "I think that’s where we left our SENSE OF HUMOR…!!!"
If this husband-and-wife duo looks familiar, that's because they've gone viral before
As you might remember, Beeler famously tricked her husband another time, in 2021, by placing a ton of empty delivery boxes at her front door after her husband asked her to cool it with the online shopping.
His response when he got home — only to see a mountain of boxes blocking his front door — was pretty hilarious.
Needless to say, that video quickly went viral, too.
