"Harry Potter" fans rejoice, your summer just got a little busier. J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore website just announced four new books to be released soon — and the first two are coming later this month.
The new e-book releases will explore the origins of magic through history and folklore. Fans will recognize the format – that feature notes, manuscript pages and sketches – from the earlier "Harry Potter: A History of Magic."
From Pottermore:
The series features four bitesize reads, each themed by Hogwarts lessons, and will take you back in time once again to learn about the traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories, accompanied by some new, gorgeous line drawings from London-based artist Rohan Daniel Eason.
According to the website, the e-book shorts are adapted from the audiobook version of "Harry Potter: A History of Magic" that was released last year and feature “colourful characters and curious incidents of the real history of magic” in a condensed format.
The first two books, "Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts" and "Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology" are set to be released on June 27.
The remaining two, "Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy" and "Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures," will be published in the coming months.
Initial releases of all four books will be available in English, French, Italian and German. They are now available for preorder.
