Nurse Describes Patient’s Creepy Relative Cornering Her in Hospital Bathroom

Just in case you thought you might be safe from potential male predators at your place of work, in a hospital, that’s just not true. A nurse by the name of Rachel posted a TikTok video where she describes a scary situation where a patient’s male family member seemingly tricked her into going into the bathroom, where he cornered her before she was able to leave.

The situation could have been much worse, but as it is, it’s a scenario that women have to deal with daily. In her video, Rachel tells other women not to let their guards down when it comes to men, ever. She also goes into detail about what happened and how she found herself in that position while she was on the clock.

She says to never “let your guard down” as a woman.

At some point, whether you are told as a young girl or you have to learn it along the way to adolescence and adulthood, women know that there is never really a time to not be aware of their surroundings and the people near them. Rachel is proof of that with her story of a patient’s family member almost trapping her in a bathroom.

“It doesn’t matter where you are as a woman, don’t you ever think for one second to let your guard down,” Rachel says in the video. “Doesn’t matter if you have security around you, if you’re at work, if you think you’re covered, because I just had a patient’s family member tell me that this bathroom is out of paper towels. And he’s like,’ yeah, it’s, like, not coming out. Go check.’ So I come into the bathroom to check. There’s paper towels in it. As soon as I walked in, I felt uneasy. I walk in, he walks in behind me, and I’m thinking, ‘oh, dang, did I just trap myself in the bathroom with this weird guy I don’t even know?'”

She explains that she turned around and the male was directly behind her in the one-stall bathroom, “clocking the door.” At this point, he told her she’s “really pretty” and asked fort her name. She had to order him to step aside so she could leave the bathroom, but the feeling of being violated was already there.

Maybe his endgame was just to get Rachel to an area where he could ask for her phone number. However, even that is highly inappropriate and predatory. If a man has to trick you into going somewhere private with him, and then try and trick you into giving out personal information about yourself because he said you’re “pretty,” you don’t owe anything to him. Like, at all.

Some users in the comments under the TikTok told Rachel to make sure she reported the incident. Others shared their exhaustion at continuously dealing with predatory men as women who simply exist.

Someone else advised Rachel, “Yep and don’t be afraid to SCREAM and make a scene.”

Another user wrote, “That moment your heart drops it’s a terrifying moment.” If you are a woman in this world, you know exactly what that “heart dropping” moment feels like.
