Every few months, there will be a social media post that makes waves because the poster makes a comment about how children shouldn't be allowed in public spaces. This month, it was a man tweeting about banning kids from grocery stores. Grocery shopping isn't always an easy process when you have to take your kids along, but for a lot of parents, it's a necessity. And while it may not be pleasant for others, keeping kids out of public spaces isn't the solution either.

"Hear me out… a grocery store where no children are allowed," X (formerly Twitter) user @Camel_Crushin tweeted.

As soon as he wrote that tweet, people began chiming in with their opinions as to whether he was right. Parents and non-parents alike all had very strong beliefs when it came to the subject.
There were definitely a lot of people who didn't feel that the post was controversial, and actually agreed with the OP.
"As a mother, I’m not mad at this," one person replied.
"Take my money," another person wrote.
"Oh my God, I love where your heads at!!!!" someone else chimed in.
Plenty of people shared their own experiences, saying that kids aren't actually the problem when grocery shopping.
"Other adult shoppers are far more annoying than the children who are usually in carts," one person wrote.
"I used to work in a supermarket, the absolute least annoying people in there were kids," another person added.
"Kids usually aren't my problem. It's the 60 year olds taking up the entire aisle shooting the s–t and mad you want to get by them," someone else shared.
"I have more issues with seniors at grocery stores than kids. Lots of rude old folks in my neck of the woods. Had some old lady take chicken out of my cart once because I grabbed the last two and she wanted them," a person explained.
"We won't hear you out, because this is inane. Capitalism dictates that mothers here have basically no childcare & oh! such a nuisance! children require food to survive. & capitalism's first tenant is like, if you're buying, come in, & no one's buying more groceries than parents," one comment read.
"This is a short-sighted idea. Preventing child development will lead to more adult children in the near future," someone pointed out.
"Nah man, lots of folks can't afford a sitter to go shopping or don't have anyone to help watch em. I'd sit this one out," one person said.
"I don't have kids and generally support these sorts of policies, but a grocery store is an important learning environment for little kids. Great way to show them variety, get them into new foods, textures and aromas, etc," another person shared.
After his comment backfired, the original poster backtracked on his comments, adding additional tweets to "clarify" his feelings.
"I don’t hate children. In fact, I love them. I hate parents that let their children run around and do whatever the f–k they want. Glad we cleared that up," one of his tweets read.
"I do find it interesting that this somehow turned into an I hate children tweet. I don’t recall saying that, but whatever," he added.
