While some people prefer to try to try and leave politics out of their personal lives, when political beliefs overlap with professional services, things can get a little tricky.
For instance, one mom recently expressed shock and dismay after finding out her therapist was a very enthusiastic MAGA supporter.
Not all professionals advertise their political beliefs to their patients or clients, but Dr. Harleen Grewal, a dentist from California, went viral after delivering a speech in which she publicly joked about making dental procedures for her Democratic patients more painful.
Dr. Grewal spoke publicly at a Republican meeting and joked about 'cutting back' on laughing gas for certain patients.
Video clips of Dr. Grewal speaking at the 2023 meeting show her boasting about her ‘Wall of Fame,” featuring prominent Republican leaders, which she rattled off by name.
She also noted that she has a picture of her and ‘the homie,’ on her office wall, seemingly referring to President Trump himself.
Dr. Grewal explained that some patients reacted strongly to seeing the Republican pictures, and added that she also enjoys wearing a ‘secret’ red hat that says “Make Your Smile Great Again.’
The dentist told the crowd, in between laughs, that when her patients complained or looked 'horrified' by her hat, she would turn down their laughing gas.

“I quietly cut back on the laughing gas and say, ‘You got this! It’s not as bad as you think it is!'” Dr. Grewal told the crowd. “I stole that from Joe Biden.”
Dr. Grewal also blamed ‘Bidenomics’ upon hearing ‘certain Democrats’ complain about her prices.
“It was so much better in my office when the dems stayed home during COVID with their masks on,” she added. “I wish they still did.”
One of the dental offices Dr. Grewal owns describes her as having a 'compassionate approach' and being at the 'forefront' of public health initiatives, especially during COVID-19.

Dr. Grewal also owns Skyline Smiles, a pediatric dental practice in California, which she names in the video clip, as well as Mind Body Infusion, a med-spa she owns with her husband, Yuvraj Grewal, MD.
People reported that Dr. Grewal said she had been fully investigated and cleared by the California Dental Board, and claimed that the video clip was only spread to ‘cancel’ her.
“Why can’t we just take a joke lightheartedly?” the dentist added.
