This ‘Love Island’ Baby Shower Announced the Newest Bombshell in the Best Way

Good morning, islanders. A baby bombshell has entered the Villa. Well, not quite yet, but one couple’s Love Island-themed baby shower will have fans everywhere imagining the trusty narrator serving voiceovers throughout the event. The user, Ansley Grace Ago, shared a video on TikTok with all of the details of her friend’s baby shower, complete with a pool full of fun floats, a buffet with the iconic “mamacita” written above it in balloons, and cookies with the words “baby bombshell” and “I got a text” on them.

Honestly, like the show itself, the baby shower is pretty iconic. All that’s missing are confessional-style messages to the baby for when they are born and can watch back the footage of the faux reality show they starred in well before they were even born. Hopefully, there will be no “re-coupling” before the baby arrives.

The couple’s love for Love Island almost surpasses their love for their new baby.

Ansley’s friend and her husband might both be huge Love Island fans, or maybe Ansley and her gal pal are just fans. Either way, I can think of no better way to celebrate a baby than to make it a fun and totally un-serious event for everyone to enjoy. Even if you’ve never watched the show, if you are chronically online or just chronically on TikTok, you might understand some of the references.

The balloon bundles and smaller decorations at the Love Island baby shower are even reminiscent of the colors used on the reality show. There’s even a balloon harland that spells out “soulties.” In Love Island language, soulties is used to describe two people who feel “tied” together and pulled toward each other like soulmates. Why they can’t just say soulmates is beyond me.

In the series, things get pretty “adult,” and while the idea is for the contestants to find love, hookups are highly expected and drama is what viewers live for. The baby shower probably has a lot less of both of those, but the spirit of Love Island is alive and well with the shower.

Even though the baby shower doesn’t appear to also be a gender reveal event, some Love Island fans commented on the TikTok to share how the parents could have taken things a step further with the theme. Some wrote that guests could get random texts with details about the baby’s gender, much like random texts show up on the show.

Some users commented to criticize the idea of using an adult-oriented reality show for a baby shower.

Others, however, were quick to share that they love the idea and they are even saving it to use for themselves someday.

One user even commented, “This is the only reason I’m so mad I’m not having anymore kids.”

Someone else added, “Love Island is the reason I’m pregnant.”

Other users who are also fans of Love Island commented to say that they think stars from the show would be missing out on a great opportunity if they didn’t use a similar theme when they have kids someday. There are some naysayers who appeared to have taken the theme a little too seriously, but it’s really not that deep. Look, it’s not a first birthday party, and there is no actual baby at the baby shower. Let’s let these parents have this moment, OK?
