We do not give babies and toddlers enough credit for being smart. When they're determined, they will stop at nothing to get what they want. If you've been around a baby, you've likely seen that determination play out in real time.
A video captured a baby in Colombia masterminding a clever escape from his crib, and it's a great example of willpower.

The video opens with the baby standing in the crib and surveying the room. He shakes the handles of the crib and tries to climb out, but realizes that climbing out may not be the smartest decision to make.
So, he has to get inventive and looks around the room to figure out his options. As you watch the clip, you can see a small cot in the bottom corner of the screen. And immediately the baby looks like he has his escape plan.
He lays on his stomach and kicks his leg out between the bars of the crib. Since the crib is against the wall, this gives him the leverage he needs to get the crib to move. He begins to sail across the room, making it easier to get closer to the cot.
You then see the crib scooting across the room. The clever baby is clearly making good progress and soon realizes that he's mere inches away from reaching the cot. A few more scoots forward and success, he manages to get the crib next to the cot.
Once the crib is against the cot, the baby is able to make his escape. He reaches forward and gently tumbles out of the crib and onto the cot pretty effortlessly. He grabs his stuffie and leaves the room before realizing one important thing: the crib is still in the middle of the room.
So he drops the stuffie on the floor and pushes the crib back against the wall. Once it's perfectly in place, he grabs his stuffie and heads out the room. The mission is complete!
Now that's one excellent escape plan.
