11-Year-Old’s $5K Christmas Wishlist Went Viral & Not in the Way Mom Hoped

It’s not exactly a secret that kids of today have vastly different childhoods than some of us did. I, for one, was playing with Barbies and hadn’t yet had a skincare routine or inkling about what Lululemon was when I was 11 years old. For one girl on TikTok, Kapree, however, that’s far from the case. When she and her mom, Mackenzie, shared a video with her Christmas wish list worth a lot more than some Barbies and Lip Smackers, the comments were aghast.

With one item being an $89 hoodie. Mind you, this is also a child who is still growing and will probably grow out of most of the expensive clothes she’s asking for. I’m not here to tell Mackenzie what to buy and what not to shell out cash for when it comes to her daughter, but I wouldn’t even buy myself, a grown adult, an $89 hoodie.

One of the cheaper items is a $22 watch.

In Mackenzie and Kapree’s first video, which they later claim was satire, Kapree asks for wildly expensive gifts that most 11-year-olds do not need. There was even a second part video follow-up for that one. Later, Mackenzie posted another video to share what Karpee’s actual Christmas wish list has on it. And, spoiler alert, it is just as extravagant, so was the first “rage bait” video actually fake or are they faking us out now?

Alright, I’m confused. In Kapree’s Christmas wish list video that Mackenzie posted on its own, and not part of the allegedly “satire” videos from before, she also asks for a $91 sweatsuit set, a gold watch that no child needs, and a mini refrigerator. Luckily, Mackenzie found a $22 version of Kapree’s grandmother’s sought-after gold watch.

After Makenzie shared the video, seemingly in the hopes of getting praised for finding deals and treating her daughter, she was met with some heavy criticisms from other users. I mean, you don’t post about your 11-year-old wanting a mini fridge for her drinks and also her “skincare” without expecting some heavy blowback.

There are also users who are all but certain that Mackenzie’s previous videos were not satire, as Mackenzie claims they are.

“That wasn’t satire. Nice try though,” someone commented on the video. They then added, likely in reference to Kapree, “I want want want want want.”

“I think the first one was real and they just called it a joke [because] of all the hate,” someone else commented. “Not to be rude, just what I think.”

Another user referenced the Lululemon leggings that Kapree asks for, which are almost $90 for one pair. Again, this is an 11-year-old kid who is likely to quickly grow out of leggings.

And, in case you were wondering the grand total, per one user’s estimate, the girl is asking for $5,741 in gifts. Will she get everything on her wish list? Given Mackenzie’s reactions alongside her in the videos, this seems on par with what the family is used to. So yes, there is a good chance that this 11-year-old girl will have a better Christmas than you, a grown adult.
