7 TikTok Beauty Trends Worth Knowing About

I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a good TikTok beauty trend. After all, I’ve found some of my favorite recipes and animal videos on the app, so when I see someone trying out a face mask I’ve never heard of or a lip plumper I was thinking about buying, I pay close attention.

I also have to mention, if you're a parent to someone who loves beauty hacks, trends, and products as much as you do, this can be a great bonding experience for the both of you. Here are some viral TikTok beauty trends you may want to try:

1. Glass Skin

This trend is huge with every age. I’m 47 and started doing it and now I need a lot less makeup. The name of the game is to keep your skin ultra-hydrated to achieve a moisturized, glowy look so your skin is like glass. This Hydra Moist Ice Water Mask went viral a few times over and everyone seems to love it.

2. Purple Teeth Whitener

My daughter first showed me this a few months ago. Apparently, purple toothpaste takes the yellow out of your teeth the same way purple shampoo takes the yellow tones out of brassy hair. I have not tried this yet, but I’m very tempted.

3. Derol Lip Plumping Oil

My daughter sent me the video about this 2-step lip plumper since she can’t get lip fillers until she’s older, although she desperately wants them. We ordered it right away because the reviews were great and it’s really affordable. I got to use it once since she stole it, and I’d say it works really well.

4. Infallible Face Powder

Now, this Loreal Infalliable face powder has been around for a long time and I know I must have tried it when I was younger. I try to avoid face powders now that I’m in my 40s, because I feel like the powder settles into my skin. However, when I saw the reviews on TikTok, I decided to try it and now I’ll never be without it. The coverage is amazing — and it's truly waterproof!

5. Rice Water (for hair growth)

You can make this miracle rice water right in your own home for pennies. While I have not tried it yet, I feel like I should. It looks easy and there are so many reviews on TikTok saying it works. The doctor above explains why. And yes, it's literally just water from rinsing rice grains.

6. Ombre Blush

Here you take two different colors of blush and apply the darker one first, then the lighter color and blend. It is supposed to make your face look more lifted — another one I have not tried but am definitely going to now. It’s so easy with a nice blush palette, like this one.

7. Wet-n-Wild MegaGlo Makeup Stick

This Wet-n-Wild MegaGlo makeup stick in Peach Bums went viral after TikTok discovered it was a cheap alternative to the very popular Charlotte Tilbury Peachgasm Wand. Lots of users said it works as a blush and a highlighter and loved being able to have one product take the place of two. I got this right away, and I’ve been using it for over a year. It can be worn as lipstick, blush, highlighter, eyeshadow, and used for contouring — especially if you have fair skin.

Whether you're on TikTok or not, you have to try at least one of these easy, affordable beauty trends. Trust me, you'll be hooked — just like I am.
