How to Remove Red Wine Stains in the Laundry

Step 1

Mix equal amounts of liquid dish detergent and hydrogen peroxide in a bowl.

Step 2

Test fabric on a inconspicuous place for color fastness, if possible.

Step 3

Put a towel under the cloth. This will keep the stain from bleeding through the other side of the fabric.

Step 4

Pour enough of the mixture to cover the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes for the stain to be absorbed.

Step 5

Blot the stained area until the red wine is gone. If necessary repeat.

Step 6

Wash by hand or in the laundry in cool water.
