Chemical Peels
Chemical peels treat age spots, acne scars and wrinkles. A peel removes layers of skin and encourages growth of new skin. Chemicals peels should always take place at a dermatologist's office. Your skin will appear as though it's mildly sunburned for several days after the peel.
Topical products
Topical products, either over-the-counter or by prescription, rejuvenate aging skin. They come in the form of moisturizers and serums. They can treat fine lines and slow the skin aging process. Prescription products such as retinoids can actually reverse signs of aging. Over-the-counter products, such as those containing alpha hydroxy acid, help slough away old cells that make skin appear dull.
Fillers
Fillers can be used to plump lines and wrinkles in your face. They are especially useful on crow's feet and areas around your lips. These are not permanent, and maintenance is required. Fillers injected in laugh lines can dramatically change the look of your face.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion helps rejuvenate aging skin by stimulating new growth. It's not painful and there is no recovery time. Microdermabrasion removes the top layer of the skin using micro-particles. While there are over-the-counter options, they are not as effective as getting the procedure done at a dermatologist's office or from a licensed esthetician.
