Step 1
Take the brass wall hanging off the wall if possible.
Step 2
Mix 1 teaspoon mild liquid dish soap in 1 cup lukewarm water.
Step 3
Dip a clean cloth into the soapy solution and rub it over the surface of the brass wall hanging to remove as much of the dirt, debris and grime as possible.
Step 4
Gently brush the brass wall hanging with a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove dirt from the creases and crevices.
Step 5
Rinse the wall hanging under clear water if possible. Alternatively, run a clean, damp cloth over the brass pieces to remove the dish soap residue. Dry the wall hanging completely with a clean and dry cloth.
Step 6
Put brass polish on the edge of a cloth and gently rub it into the piece of brass until there is a thin film of polish covering the entire item.
Step 7
Buff the brass with a clean, soft cloth. Rub the item in circular motions until it is shiny.
