Social media users are showing off how the carry handle on the water bottle cap makes the ideal nesting spot for sauce containers — and frees up your hands for all your dipping desires.
“Just another reason I’m team Owala forever,” commented Allie P. on TikTok.
“This is my selling point. I want one,” added another commenter.
While some Instagram users were not impressed (“Then u can’t drink??” pointed out one user), others were blown away by the hack.
“This is actually life changing information,” wrote one Instagram user.
“This is elite tho bc THERE IS NO PLACE IN MY CAR FOR SAUCE,” added another apparently sauceless parking lot diner.

Another TikToker showed how you can also use the water bottle opened to hold your sauce.
“If this doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will…,” TikToker Ashwee commented in her video.

I have to say, I am with Ashwee on this one. In fact, I’m sipping from my daughter’s Owala as we speak (shhh, don’t tell her).
I’ve carted it around for a full day of summer fun with my daughters, from a trip to the library for a dino-themed day to grocery shopping to the paint store. If you’re not convinced by the Owala water bottle, don’t let me sway you. I am fully on team whatever gets you hydrated.
But what I can tell you is why my teenage daughters love them. Aside from their bold and bright color palettes, my teens love that you can sip or tip to drink from the primarily flat spout. If you haven’t experienced this yet, it’s much different than the Stanley because you sip right from the mouthpiece, but the straw is underneath, so it’s not visible — it’s an adjustment, but it’s super convenient.
If you don’t want to sip or just need more water quickly, you can also tip the whole thing upright like a traditional water bottle and chug it.
Their second favorite feature is the curved carrying handle that makes carting around the water bottle all day very easy. Or, as we have seen, pulling double duty as an Owala sauce holder.
