What inspired you to start your business?
Our motto is simple: happy shopping for the everyday eco-family. Why? Because we've been there before—checking out labels on products not knowing which ones were safe. We know how it feels to be overwhelmed with information. That's why we created Mothers Organic. We wanted to make it easy to shop for eco alternatives for you and your family including your pet, whether you're just starting out with eco-friendly products or a seasoned green shopper.
When I became pregnant with my oldest, about 6 years ago, I searched and searched to find a place where actual mothers share their personal recommendations for healthy, safe and eco-friendly products for mom and baby. After seeing the void, I knew it was my duty as a mother and blogger to develop a place where mothers like myself can test, share and help with the buying process, based on their true opinions on current products on the market.
What do you most love about it?
What I love most is the ability to connect with parents like myself who are looking to either start living a greener lifestyle or even those that teach me a few things about healthy/green living. We have such an amazing community of parents, customer and reader base that are truly dedicated to our growth by sharing our vision which in turn is their vision to have a one-stop shop for all things green for the family.
What's the hardest thing about running your own business and being a mom?
The hardest thing about running your own business and being a mom is definitely the balancing act. It's a constant struggle but one I wouldn't trade for anything. My children are completely involved in our business. They are the first to try out the products we carry and even have become pros in the buying process. They've been attending trade shows with me since birth.
What's your best-selling product?
Our top sellers varies from month to month and usually is within the baby/child department. This month's best seller is our Blue Avocado Reusable Bags. These bags remain a constant must-have for parents packing their little ones lunches and even those packing lunches for their work! These durable storage bags replace disposable plastic baggies used for snacks, sandwiches, travel, home organization and more. The transparent design is ideal for identifying the contents inside. The food safe FDA-grade PEVA material is PVC-free, lead-free and BPA-free. Leakproof, double-lock closure seals in freshness and expandable base for easy packing and cleaning.
What do your kids think about the work you do?
My kids love our business. They know exactly why we created Mothers Organic and the commitment behind it. Also it doesn't hurt that they get to try out some amazing products before they even hit the market. We've been blessed to meet and connect with so many like-minded parents and their children and that's been equally amazing to both my children and myself.
